"I JUST CAN'T KEEP SITTING ON THIS ONE!!!"

"Galactic Luv" is one of those songs that came together magically. Interestingly, its beat is the only one I created using my Akai MPC ONE retro edition back in 2022, making it the longest-in-the-making track from my upcoming album. Production-wise, I sampled Norah Jones' "Sunrise" - a nod to my love for her music. I kept the sampling technique simple, looping the part that resonated with me the most. The hook came together quickly, but I put the beat on standby while I worked on other projects.

Two years later, while organizing my files, I stumbled upon the beat labeled "111." The moment I heard it, I knew it had to become a full-fledged song. In October 2024, I was at my new place, working on lyrics for two beats, including "Galactic Luv." After a cup of coffee, I started writing, and the words "Galactic, romantic" sparked instant inspiration. I wrote the lyrics in 20 minutes, feeling the creative energy.

Before recording, I rehearsed the song extensively, often on the street with plugged-in earphones, perfecting my delivery. I like to rehearse at least five times to ensure a better take with intention and conviction. Once I felt ready, I headed to Attic Records, where I recorded the vocals seated in the control room, close to my MPC and mixer. The band rehearsing next door added a unique background element, which I chose to keep.

When I finally recorded "Galactic Luv" and listened to it back at my parents' place, I couldn't believe I'd turned a simple 2022 idea into a full song. Moments like these make music-making truly rewarding. I don't chase fame or industry validation; I create for the love of it. I hope you enjoy "Galactic Luv" as much as I do. Have a blessed week!

Hey! Thank you for being here and enjoy the fruits of hard work. I have been making music on a daily basis since the year of 2011, back when I was in my freshman year of high school, but my first projects were made in 2008, back when I was in my sophomore year of junior high. Making music has always been a key element in my life because it is a talent we all share in my family. 

I started with a Gateway computer running Windows 7 and FL Studio 9. Then I landed on Ableton Live, the DAW that took my heart by storm. I finally arrived at what would become my true musical endeavour: sampling old records on an MPC. This all would become something like a musical dream since I started wanting to make songs without a DAW or PC for that matter. 

I went down on a scavenger hunt and found the Tascam Model line up and bought a Model 24.

This machine helped me as it was an entry level product for DAWless production. That’s how songs such as “It’s On” or “Yall Hedz” came to be. By producing then on an MPC plugged straight on to the PC serving as a hub to the Tascam Model 24. So I created my debut album “ArK Of All Trades” a Frankenstein mix between DAWless production and a dance made by both FL Studio and Ableton. 

Now, I’m working on my Sophomore Album.

So to me this is simple, to just make songs I think are “listenable” since I had a pretty rocky start on this. People would tell I’m -not- cut for this (ouch). So I’m not here to chase clout or claiming a fame pass. I produce the songs that come from the gut of my heart and the truth of my soul.

Speaking of truth, I was also a drug addict who had to battle addiction against drugs such as cocaine and 2-CB. It was the worst 8 years of my life. I started smoking pot on a weekly basis in my sophomore year of high school, something that escalated. I still remember my female classmates hating on me because I would come to class high as fuck and smelling of weed. It was all crazy bad, but it was part of my story. I wouldn’t deny part of my history since it has always been what fuels what I put on my lyrics.

Speaking of another more hard hitting truth: I’m a native speaker of the Spanish language. This is because I was born in Chile.

Our Generation-X co-host, Matt Burns, moved on from Corunna where he was a record setting wide receiver and graduated from Grand Valley State University. He now makes his living at ESPN.

Our youngest viewpoints will come from the Millennial of the trio Jerod Fattal. J-Rod starred at quarterback for the Cavaliers graduating in 2017, recently graduated from GVSU, and is working at Bally Sports Detroit.

Along with our unique 3 generation look at sports, pop culture, and current events, we have on a wide variety of guests; from ESPN's Ryan McGee, Ferris St. Head Football coach Tony Annese, media personalities Annie Agar and Wes Blankenship, ESPN Detroit Lions Insider Eric Woodyard, and plenty more!
