Steps

I’m gonna find my way back home
there’s a midnight main to Macon that I should be on
just don’t abandon yourself, you felt what you felt for sure

but I can’t wake up in the morning and 
step right back into this with you
no I can’t rest my head at night 
with you thinking that my steps included you
still there’s a mirror in my bathroom 
that misses your reflection it’s true
but not enough to make me think, 
these steps I take were ever meant for two

I’m going back to where I came from, ‘cause 
there’s a band outside of Houston that use to call me their own
but I abandoned myself and felt what I felt, then had to go

The Lucky One

Steps

Music has always been a driving passion for me, starting doing solo gigs at 16, which developed my writing skills. Then somewhere in my 20’s got lost in the corporate world for 38 years, which put this love on the back burner. As primarily a singer songwriter, I value that talent most, when I listening to other artists and am always humbled by how much great talent there is out there. I’m just honored to now have the time to compile some of these and share out. Working solo is a blessing and a curse; as writing, arrangements and musical ability undoubtedly lacks diversity, however disagreements over such are kept to a minimum, it’s never really productive to argue with oneself anyhow. 😛
