In tribute to the late great Don Williams, this was probably the closest he came to recording a rock song. Very soon after Williams's version of Tulsa Time was released, Eric Clapton would record his version. Back in the 80s, I read a quote from Eric Clapton where he stated, and I'm paraphrasing, "When I really need to unwind and relax, I listen to Don Williams music." Indeed, I concur.

Style: Mid‑tempo, heavy country‑rock (Brantley Gilbert grit × Third Day power) built on wide‑panned distorted guitars, firm kick‑drum groove, and a gravel‑voiced lead.

Scriptural Focus: Isaiah 53 (the stripes) + John 19:30 (“It is finished”) told from a first‑person sinner’s perspective.
