Last December I had a seizure, the first of the new year my dog died. A few weeks later my relationship ended. About a week later my car was totaled, a little later my rental got hit. Hated my life, hated my job, darkest place I've ever been. This is the culmination of everything we feel, this climbing chaos, all covered by how we present ourselves outwardly. All of our human horror no more shrugged off as a fast food worker asking how you are.

Crisis Records returns after a five-year hiatus with Archives EP, a new release from Imre Kiss and Norwell. Recorded between 2015 and 2020, the tracks mark the duo's first collaboration since their acclaimed Ad Astra EP seven years ago.

Across the EP, Norwell's sparkling arpeggios sit comfortably alongside Imre's atmospheric pads. The sharp, metallic drum programming anchors the tracks with cold, rhythmic precision, while rich basslines, occasional squelching acid, and eerie vocal samples create a captivating, hypnotic atmosphere.

There is a strong sense of nostalgia throughout, with hints of Kraftwerk and Detroit's Drexciya woven into the sound, yet the pair still manages to craft something that feels distinctly their own.

It was October 1917 that brought socialism to the world - and Cuba's revolution that brought October into the American hemisphere, the Caribbean and Latin America, and has been a lasting inspiration for the peoples of the Americas striving for freedom from imperialist domination and the US Monroe Doctrine of the Americas being the USA's sphere of imperial domination in particular.

SHe talks about the ongoing effects of the Criminal Blockated - inspiration to strangle the Cuban nation and make er"her people scream" since the 'Cuban Missile Crisis' of 1962 and tightened by Helmes-Burton and. in particular Trump's designation Cuba as a "State sponsor of Terrorism" - that makes it almost impossible for Cuba to trade with the world, and in particular to trade and buy vital equipment, spare parts and medicines.

Yet despite this, while US imperialism exports colour revolutions, missiles, bombs and wars for regime change, whilst leaving its people languishing in poverty, Cuba cares for its people, provides universal education, housing, food, clothing, shelter, social  and medical care, and exports doctors and development aid - as well as the products of its ground breaking science and biotechnology industries.

At this great time of attempted strangulation, the Cuban people need above all solidarity and to return to the roots of their revolutionary struggle for independence.

In his talk at the “Pluriverse of Peace” conference, the writer and philosopher Raúl Sánchez Cedillo calls for a different horizon: a constituent peace, an insurrection of those very bodies, and the reconstruction of networks outside the ‘surveillance grid.’ It is a wager that emancipation could still erupt from chaos. But only if we learn to inhabit it differently.
