The Shelter Yangon is proud to present a new mix from JAYSN.
  Emerging from the serene rural landscapes of Southeast Asia, Jason Thu Ya Han,better known as JAYSN, is a rare gem in the music scene, passionately exploring the limitless possibilities of sound-designs.
Born and raised in Myanmar, JAYSN uncovered his deep connection to music at the age of 12. Starting his creative journey early, he worked on numerous projects between 2016 and 2020, honing his craft and defining his artistic vision. He made his return as JAYSN in late 2022, and his fan base has been steadily expanding ever since. JAYSN has established himself as a prominent figure in the Drum
and Bass scenes of Thailand and Myanmar, regularly headlining major underground events.
In February 2024, JAYSN debuted his single “Polaris” through the UK experimental music platform Rendah Mag, accompanied by an article spotlighting Polaris Collective and its deep ties to his artistic vision and life experiences. Shortly after, he released “VOID” on
Stellar Audio’s This is Stellar Volume 1, garnering international attention from the global Drum and Bass community.
JAYSN’s distinct style—marked by unpredictable basslines, cybercore influences, and dark, atmospheric soundscapes—has solidified his reputation as a unique and innovative artist in the scene.

This week Falling Islands from the BlackLight Tribe made us a very sensuous mixtape:
"This is a mix of electronic body synth music (EBSM), dark synthwave, and all other manner of sensuous cyber-industrial music. It is a mix dedicated to everyone negotiating with the shades of their souls that they have been taught to fear all their lives. May we make peace with these fears and find, in both light and darkness, the solace we deserve. For we are deserving. And we are enough. And we are complete.

The first BlackLight Rave was held on 22nd October 2022. Singapore's music scene had yet to re-emerge from the ashes of COVID, and there was no platform that provided a space for musicians that embraced dark themes and genres of sound while pushing the envelope of modern electronic performance art. BlackLight Tribe is for those that have made peace with their dark side and wish to express it in a safe space that not only accepts their unique oddities, but fetes it. It is BlackLight Tribe's belief that it's important to embrace the full spectrum of humanity. Aggression, isolation, sexuality, emotional hurt and the various flavours of social maladjustment. Appreciating the beauty that lies within the seemingly dark and macabre. All topics that we should face and normalise.
