Obzerv is a 24-year-old producer/DJ from London who began DJing roughly 4 years ago.

His productions and mix sessions are defined by his concepts from the realms of science fiction and are often inspired by his general observation of life and wanting freedom from the system that we are confined to. His mission to share his vision and sound with the world has just begun. This is only the beginning for this young talent and we are very excited to see his journey continue.

Dark Science Electro presents: Obzerv guest mix

"Stay With Us" is the second single from Yuu Udagawa's "Forever" EP and the debut of the highly anticipated new label from the brains behind Freerange and Delusions of Grandeur. 

Cyphon Recordings launches in February 2023 with a sound taking cues from electro, abstract electronica, IDM and Detroit-inspired futurism. 

The first release from Japan's Yuu Udagawa ticks all of those boxes and more. The "Forever" EP is a "collection of analog slo-mo electronica and left-field minimal house" striking a balance between warmth and depth, home listening and the club, according to Cyphon's Tom Roberts in the latest issue of 5 Mag. 

On "Stay With Us," Yuu Udagawa slows down time: a heavy, hazy electronic masterpiece of hammered electro-funk. Iridescent vocals wrap around Yuu's shimmering chords, curl like a coil and then spring to life, giving "Stay With Us" an unexpectedly soulful shine.

"Stay With Us" will be released on February 3; the full "Forever" EP is out February 17 2023 from Cyphon Recordings.

🎙 Yuu Udagawa @vigoomix is a Tokyo-based DJ, producer and sound artist. Active as a DJ since the millennium, which saw her playing at clubs, festivals and fashion shows across the country, Yuu Udagawa soon turned her attention to music production and has since self-released a handful of singles and contributed audio commissions for Sony Playstation3, museums, theatres and apparel brands. 

🏷 Cyphon Recordings @cyphonrecordings is a new label with one foot in the past and another in the present. The UK-based platform will pay homage to the formative electronic sounds of the mid-'90s, whilst also looking firmly to the future in its ethos, music policy and roster. Taking cues from electro, abstract electronica, IDM and Detroit-inspired futurism, Cyphon will present exciting new music filtered through the lens of that golden era of DIY home recording and bedroom production, which helped pave the way for electronic music today.

The latest EP from Anoesis on Cyphon. 

Anoesis is Howard Dodd, and he’s been out of the limelight for twenty years, but in that time, he never stopped tinkering in his studio.

Anoesis is set to let loose a five-track masterclass in IDM and electronica on London’s Cyphon Recordings entitled ‘Stasislogue’.

Back in the 90s he was responsible for some truly mind-warping breakbeat and IDM across labels like as D*Fusion and Octopus – releasing tracks that always felt like they were made in another dimension.

PREMIERE: Anoesis - Track Thirty 7 [Cyphon]

Ben Sun is a UK-based artist fusing analog frequencies and crushed samples to create vivid, atmospheric dance music. Frequently exploring ambient and pop tendencies.

He has recently released records with Jimpster's electro-focused label Cyphon, as well as Phonica and Razor-n-Tape. His music is played globally by a diverse range of DJs, from Greg Wilson to Laurent Garnier, Osunlade and Linkwood.

Beyond club music, Ben has been developing a collaborative ambient set combining live synths with trumpet and cello, that debuted at We Out Here Festival in 2022. This follows an earlier LP for Utopia Records, under the alias Earth Patterns – blending musical meditations with deep, uplifting body rhythms.

No clippy-cloppy 'mnml' bobbins or business techno though.

Spent years being the obligatory 'Bedroom DJ' along with regular visits to the techno mecca 'The Orbit' and other nights, mainly Leeds based, such as 'Superconductor', 'Darkside' & 'Detatched', culminated with a DJ spot at Detatched in 2009 playing a mainly electro/italo-house set in the bar.
What followed then was a monthly resident spot playing techno when supporting artists in the main room or the chance to play electro, house and electro-pop in the bar at Detatched followed by Future-Past and the short-lived Secret Maze, supporting some of the cream of the techno scene including warm-up slots for Claude Young, James Ruskin, Marcel Fengler, Shed, Peter van Hoesen, Joey Beltram, Octave One, Truss/MPIA3, Detroit Techno Militia, Forward Strategy Group, 65d Mavericks, Subjected and Xhin amongst others. That was supplemented by appearing on the same bill as many other DJs and artists including Hardfloor, CJ Bolland, Woody McBride, Alan Oldham, Rolando, Derrick May, DJ Bone, Reeko, Exium, Sandwell District, Grovskopa, Ancient Methods, Inigo Kennedy, Bas Mooy, Damon Wild, Takaaki Itoh, Go Hiyama and Neil Landstrumm.
