Dallas, we’ve arrived. 💜

Recorded live at the Electric Cactus club on Saturday, November 15th 2025, this track kicks off the OMGG “Dallas Live Series” – the follow-up to our Little Rock live nights.

“Forever (Hold Me)” is our hip hop / trap-pop tribute to a true classic. The core hook (“hold me, kiss me, whisper sweetly… forever”) comes from the song “Forever”, written by Buddy Killen and first released in 1960 by The Little Dippers. Later, Pete Drake & His Talking Steel Guitar turned it into a legendary 1964 hit with his talking-steel / early talk-box sound and that ghostly processed vocal line.

OMGG takes that vintage hook and reimagines it as a modern club track: fast, confident rap verses, a vocoder-flavored “hold me / kiss me / whisper / sweetly” chorus, and the Dallas crowd screaming every word back at Gigi. Mark throws in ad-libs and backing vocals from the side while the rest of OMGG lock into a tight, bass-heavy live groove.

All rights to the original composition “Forever” and the earlier recordings belong to their respective copyright holders. This Dallas live version is an homage and reinterpretation, not an official release by the original writers or artists.

No filters, no studio polish – just Electric Cactus room reverb, hands in the air, and a love song shouted at full volume in Dallas, Texas.

Track 3 of the OMGG “Dallas Live Series”. 🌃✨

Recorded live at Electric Cactus in Dallas, “Neon Crockett Night” is OMGG’s night-drive tribute to classic 80s synth moods. The song is inspired by the atmosphere and emotion of Jan Hammer’s “Crockett’s Theme” from Miami Vice – lonely highways, neon reflections, and a hero thinking too much behind the wheel – but turned into a modern hip hop / trap-pop club moment.

Gigi takes the lead with a slow, confident rap and a melodic neon hook, while Mark (Gigi’s brother) jumps in on male backing vocals and ad-libs. The band lays down 80s-flavored synths over bouncy 808s, and the Dallas crowd shouts the “Crockett night!” chant back at the stage inside a packed Electric Cactus.

All rights to the original composition “Crockett’s Theme” and its recordings belong to Jan Hammer and the respective copyright holders. “Neon Crockett Night” is an OMGG original work that’s inspired by that sound world, not a cover or remake of the original theme.

Captured on Saturday, November 15th 2025, this track shows the synthwave side of the Dallas Live Series for Latitude Records – a late-night highway from Miami Vice dreams straight into a Texas club.

OMGG – Short Shorts Tonight [Live at Electric Cactus, Dallas]

Track 4 of the OMGG “Dallas Live Series”. 💃✨

“Short Shorts Tonight” is OMGG’s 50s-style doo-wop / rock ’n’ roll tribute to the classic “Short Shorts” by The Royal Teens. The original song was written by Tom Austin, Bill Crandell, Bill Dalton and Bob Gaudio and released in 1958, becoming a top 3 U.S. hit and one of the defining teen novelty / doo-wop singles of its era. Later it found a second life in commercials and pop culture, but it started as a raw rock ’n’ roll idea about girls in ultra-short cutoff jeans. 

OMGG don’t play a line-for-line cover here. “Short Shorts Tonight” is their own live version built on that spirit: Gigi on playful lead vocal, the rest of the girls doing stacked doo-wop backing, and Mark (Gigi’s brother) on upright-style bass and shout-along responses. The crowd at Electric Cactus yells “Short shorts!” in call-and-response while the band leans into honking sax and 50s guitar licks, turning a Dallas Saturday night into a jukebox dance floor.

All rights to the original composition “Short Shorts” and its recordings belong to The Royal Teens writers and the respective copyright holders. “Short Shorts Tonight” is an OMGG tribute and reimagined live arrangement in that 50s style, not a full cover or remake of the original record.
