The 25 year old 'Southport Weekender' event is the premier soul music weekender! Held at the Butlin's Holiday Resort in Bognor it hosts a world class line up of artists and DJ's covering the whole spectrum of classic and contemporary soulful sounds. For somebody like me, I can only dream of ever playing at this level and its safe to say it ain't ever going to happen. But it doesn't mean I can't pretend...

So here's my mix in honour of this years 'Southport Weekender' festival. Picking a selection of my favourite soulful and deep grooves.

From cafe bars to restaurants, night clubs to beach bars, hotels to weddings, Mark Anthony has played them all, from 'Cafe Blue' in Bristol to 'Home Nightclub' in Manchester and everything inbetween. Mark's talents don't only apply behind the turntables, in the 00's he also launched his own record label 'Neat Music Recordings'. Releasing primarily deep and jazzy house music, you'll find many of his tracks featured on big named compilation albums like Hed Kandi, Cafe Del Mar, Sony Music and over 50 others.
