I added a 70s "DBX 110 Subharmonic Synthesizer" to my analog DJ setup centered around a "Can Electric Taula 4 MR" and two 1210MK2 with Ortofon NightclubS systems. Integrated the DBX via "effect send", took the DBX-subwoofer-out signal and laid it back on a separate line-channel of the Taula mixer. The intention is to generate a more powerful, deep bass sound especially on low fidelity sounding/mastered records. So I took a bunch of mostly 7" and album tracks (no 12" singles)...and recorded with 0dB max peak level on a Tascam DR-40. On tracks like "The Undisputed Truth - You+Me=Love" you can clearly hear the difference - with the DBX there is a really warmly bass kick'n in now. The idea of integrating a Subharmonic Synthesizer in a DJ/Club-PA-setup goes back to the Paradise Garage (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subharmonic_synthesizer).
