Destine for solo violin.  
Commissioned by Filipino artist Mart Henry Bongabong for the new painting series ‘Mamlakah’.  

Each piece is inspired by a verse from the Biblical passage of Matthew on the theme of Mamlakah.  The intense, chromatic nature of the paintings radiate changing, scattered light which is reflected in the compositions through a sense of synaesthesia.  (The crossing of sound/colour senses).

Caroline Bordignon is modern-day, female composer exploring aspects of colour, light, space, time and ways these interrelate in musical and visual expression through synaesthesia.  Her music has been performed internationally and she has collaborated with artists around the world.  Recently she composed a series of solo violin works for the new painting series ‘Mamlakah’ by Filipino artist Mart Henry Bongabong.  ‘Desert Rose,’ a series of musical compositions and paintings was first premiered in a sea-side village on the Island Garden City of Samal, Philippines.  She is currently composing and painting new works for ‘Desert Rose’ which will receive further premieres in Asia later this year.
Hailing from Canada, she now lives in England.

Fun Fact: 

"Pictureplane"(Travis Egedy), is a popular artist known for making his come up in the electronic music scene, DIY Venues, also popular for hanging around artists like "Grimes" and "Crystal Castles" in the early come up days of these artist, he is also the one who came up with the word "Witch House" which is a playful word on "House" music, though "Witch House" is now a popular music genre that is enjoyed by many.

"Crystal Castles" are actually one of the very first, if not the first electronic music duo to actually invent "Witch House" music, as you can hear dark beats and sorrow drawn out voices off of some of their early (demo songs/ Demo Album) dating back from "2007" and before that, which is crazy to think since during that time "Witch House" did not have a name for itself yet.
