"Real You" is a heartfelt, feel-good country love song that captures the beauty of slowing life down and truly connecting with the one you love. The song’s story begins when the lights go out and the world grows quiet — no buzzing phones, no glowing screens, just two hearts in the stillness. As the music unfolds, it paints a vivid picture of deep conversation, gentle laughter, and rediscovering each other in a way only silence can bring.

With warm guitar tones, a touch of fiddle, and lyrics that mix poetic imagery with raw sincerity, “Real You” celebrates love in its purest form — unfiltered, unhurried, and unforgettable. Real You

One may transfer oneself, and it takes practice, to the internal potency, and that's what we're doing. So, anyone can be trained in the philosophy of Kṛṣṇa consciousness to attain this, it takes a lot of coaching, and you have to coach yourself. Everyone feels put upon by material nature, subjected to various miseries. Do you ever feel subjected to various miseries? Then change the subject, because the subject of our mind is how to fix everything in the material world. That's the subject. That's why there are shops everywhere. Every shop has tried to fix some problem, and it doesn't matter how many you go to, it won't work.

But if you come to this shop and you practice every day meditating on the one object, the ultimate object of meditation, there's only one ultimate object—that's Bhagavān, and then it's Kṛṣṇa or Lord Caitanya, same. Stay there, and then, "How do I do that? My mind is fickle." Chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and listen to the holy name. Everything, all potencies, are fully available in that. It has to be practiced every day carefully. Then when the result comes, there's a change of one's position in life. We go from the struggle of anartha-nivṛtti, which is, "How do I overcome this? Why am I being assaulted constantly by my senses?" to a place, niṣṭhā, where it's noticeable that the noise has gone down, and one feels that one has a standing in spiritual life. It's noticeable. One has a standing in spiritual life and isn't being pushed around by the unwanted desires. They're gone. And then from there comes ruci, which means that it becomes so enjoyable to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa that it's the main thing I want to do, not the last thing I want to do or not, "I have to do this," it's, "When can I do it? How can I do it more?"

Make Chanting Hare Krishna The Main Thing You Do, Not The Last One | HG Vaisesika Dasa | 09 Aug 2025

Raised in Concrete Washington, I learned to play the guitar when I was 12 years old.  We had a music teacher by the name of Daryl Cooper who was like my older brother.  He started a guitar class and I couldn't wait to be in it.  By the 2nd or 3rd week I had probably outgrown the class but I enjoyed every minute of it.  I was in his band by the time I was 14 playing dances all over Western Washington.  I was awarded the National Choral Award Scholarship my senior year of high school.  This goes to one student in the United States.  I wasn't smart enough to use it.  I joined the United States Navy in 1979 and stayed for almost 22 years.  During that time I was a submariner and eventually the pilot of a small submersible (DSV3 Turtle) that would dive to 10,000 feet deep.  I was in bands playing guitar and singing throughout my military career.  We actually had a couple songs play on DC101 in the 80's.  Now in my 60's, I'm able to relax and write songs without any pressure or dreams of grandeur.  I like the songs I write and hope you like them too.
