Weight Drop

Today I sat down with the intention of just messing around with some sounds, but inspiration hit hard. In just over half an hour, a brand new track came together—and I couldn’t be more excited about it. The result is my latest creation, a DOPEDROP-styled song I’ve titled Oblivion.

Even though it came together quickly, I poured a lot of energy and focus into making sure every detail hit the way I wanted. The pounding basslines, bright leads, and melodic bounce all lock into place to give it that signature DOPEDROP energy I’ve always admired. It’s fast, it’s emotional, and it’s the kind of track you can get lost in completely.

The name Oblivion felt natural, because that’s exactly what the process was like—losing track of everything else, getting absorbed in the music, and letting creativity take the lead. For me, oblivion isn’t emptiness; it’s that state of being fully immersed in sound, where nothing else matters.

I’m really proud of how much this song captures that vibe, especially considering it was born from a single session today. It might’ve only taken around half an hour, but Oblivion feels like one of those tracks that just needed to exist. Sometimes the best songs are the ones that almost write themselves.
