Lauter als jeder Sound schreit die Stille, die du hinterlassen hast.

Manchmal schreit die Stille lauter als jeder Bass.
Mein Vinyl-Mix „Louder Than Silence“ ist mehr als nur ein Titel – es ist ein Gefühl.

Es beschreibt diesen Widerspruch: Wenn der Dancefloor tobt, doch eine Stimme fehlt.
Wenn der Bass jede Faser durchdringt, aber die Leere im Herzen noch viel lauter ist.
Stille ist nicht nichts – sie donnert, sie drückt, sie macht spürbar, dass Laura nicht mehr da ist.
Doch in dieser Stille lebt Erinnerung, und in jedem Beat von L.A.U.R.A. Soundsystem pulsiert sie weiter.

Dieses Bild zeigt genau das: Die Wucht der Anlage, das Licht, der Nebel –
und Laura, die der Musik gegenübersteht, wie sie es so geliebt hat. So wie wir es alle lieben.
Aber sie steht allein, so wie wir jetzt ohne sie dort stehen müssen.

„Louder Than Silence“ ist ein Manifest dafür, wieder auflegen zu können ohne zu heulen.
Dafür, wieder feiern zu lernen – trotz Verlust.
Ein Dancefloor, der gleichzeitig Abschied und Weiterleben bedeutet.
Ein Bass, der stärker ist als Schweigen.

Und jede Träne ist ein Beweis, dass sie in uns weiterlebt.

Louder than any sound screams the silence you left behind.

Sometimes silence screams louder than any bass.
“Louder Than Silence” is more than just a title – it is a feeling.

It describes the contradiction: when the dancefloor is shaking, yet one voice is missing.
When the bass penetrates every fiber, but the emptiness in the heart is even louder.
Silence is not nothing – it thunders, it presses, it makes us feel that Laura is no longer here.
And yet, within this silence, memory lives on, and with every beat of the L.A.U.R.A. Soundsystem, she still pulses.

This image shows exactly that: the power of the speakers, the light, the haze –
and Laura, facing the music, just as she loved to. Just as we all love to.
But she stands alone, just as we now must stand without her.

“Louder Than Silence” is a manifesto for being able to play again.
For learning to celebrate again – despite the loss.
A dancefloor that means both farewell and continuation.
A bass that is stronger than silence.

And every tear is proof that she lives on within us.

Hlasitěji než jakýkoli zvuk křičí ticho, které jsi po sobě zanechala.

Někdy ticho křičí hlasitěji než jakýkoli bas.
„Louder Than Silence“ není jen název – je to pocit.

Popisuje ten rozpor: když se taneční parket otřásá, ale jeden hlas chybí.
Když bas proniká každým vláknem, ale prázdnota v srdci je ještě hlasitější.
Ticho není nic – hřmí, tlačí, nutí cítit, že Laura už tu není.
A přesto v tom tichu žije vzpomínka a s každým beatem L.A.U.R.A. Soundsystemu dál pulzuje.

Tento obraz ukazuje přesně to: sílu aparatury, světlo, mlhu –
a Lauru, která stojí tváří v tvář hudbě, tak jak to milovala. Tak jak to milujeme všichni.
Ale stojí sama, tak jako teď musíme stát bez ní i my.

„Louder Than Silence“ je manifestem znovu hrát.
Znovu se učit slavit – navzdory ztrátě.
Taneční parket, který znamená zároveň rozloučení i pokračování.
Bas, který je silnější než ticho.

A každá slza je důkazem, že v nás dál žije.

FAG23 - Das Kürzel steht nicht nur für die FREUDE AM GERÄUSCH, sondern auch für den puren Spaß an den schrillsten Klängen und den abgefahrensten Sound-Verzerrungen. Wir sind hier nicht einfach nur Zuhörer, sondern Klangabenteurer, die sich in den wirbelnden Dimensionen der Musik verlieren und dabei brachialste Klänge feiern.


My History

Meine musikalische Reise begann im Jahr 1996, als ich anfing Vinyl-Schallplatten zu mixen und Musik zu produzieren. Von elektronischen Klängen wurde ich schon 1992 infiziert und damals wurden die Grundsteine für mein Tekno-Leben gelegt, das nun schon 32 Jahre elektrisch erklingt. In Kölns damals einzigem Techno-Club „Warehouse“ erlebte ich wilde Nächte und entdeckte meine Liebe zur elektronischen Musik und zum tanzen. In einer Ära, in der Computer noch zu langsam waren, um Musik in Echtzeit zu machen, vertrauten wir auf die analogen Helden unserer Sets: Roland SH-101, TB-303, TR-606, und die 808 und 909 und auf Technics-Plattenspieler.

Auf meinem Weg lag dann Ende der 90er Jahr noch mein Plattenladen NET-RECORDS oder eine Tekno-Kneipe oder selbstorganisierte FreeParties, oder…
Seitdem sind stolze 28 Jahre vergangen – 28 Jahre Vinyl-Mixing, 28 Jahre Tekno. Eine Zeit voller ekstatischer Nächte, durchtanzter Sonnenaufgänge und der ewigen Suche nach dem nächsten bahnbrechenden Beat.

Doch FAG23 ist mehr als nur eine musikalische Odyssee. Es ist eine Hommage an die FreeParty- und Teknival-Kultur, die mich seit über 25 Jahren in unseren Bann zieht. Angefangen bei Spiral Tribe, den Reverends of Rhythm in Heilbronn, APA Soundsystem und viele andere. Die epischen Nächte auf Freeparties oder auf dem Easttek und Teknivals in ganz Europa: Das alles hat mein Leben für immer geprägt – und ich hätte auch kein anderes Leben leben wollen.

Für mich ist DJ-Mixing nicht nur das plumpe abspielen von Tracks, hintereinander weg oder dem stupiden Aneinanderreihen von Platten. Es ist die Kunst, zwei Tracks zu verschmelzen und daraus einen einzigartigen Sound zu erschaffen der nur in diesem Moment lebt und der nur live entstehen kann. Das ist FAG23-DJ-Mixing in seiner Essenz.
Und vergessen wir nicht: Tekno: Das heißt in meinem Leben. Musik als Träger von Ideen! Ein ständiger Fluss von Kreativität, der uns immer weiter treibt. Mehr als 25 Jahre ist elektronische Musik nicht nur Teil meines Lebens, sondern meine Leidenschaft.
Also, lasst uns gemeinsam durch die schrägen Sounds von FAG23 tanzen, uns lächelnd in den Beats verlieren. 


Wir wollen frei sein

Wir versuchen, unsere Hemmungen abzulegen und uns von den Fesseln und Einschränkungen zu befreien, die Ihr uns zu Eurem eigenen Seelenfrieden auferlegt habt. Wir versuchen, uns von der Last der Unsicherheit für eine Zukunft zu befreien, bei der Ihr mit Euren Kriegen, Eurem Hass und Eurer Gier nicht in der Lage gewesen seid, sie für uns zu stabilisieren und zu sichern.
Was ich sagen will, ist, dass wir versuchen, das Programm neu zu schreiben, welches Ihr uns seit dem Moment, in dem wir geboren wurden, einzupflanzen versucht habt. Eine Matrix, die gegen uns vorgeht und uns zu hassen scheint, die alles verurteilt, was anders ist und nicht mag, wenn wir sichtbar werden.
Gemeint ist das Programm, welches Ihr uns ab dem 1. Tag unseres Lebens einzupflanzen versucht und welches uns sagt, dass wir für Euch schuften sollen und uns beibringen soll, durch brennende Reifen zu springen, durch Labyrinthe zu irren und in Hamsterrädern zu laufen.
Eure unmenschliche Kultur, die uns sagt, dass es besser ist, von einem glänzenden, goldenen Löffel zu fressen, anstatt zu schauen, dass alle satt werden.


Wir sind nicht gegen das System. Das System ist gegen uns.

Wir sind keine Kriminellen. Wir sind keine Drogenabhängigen. Wir sind auch nicht desillusioniert. Wir sind nicht dumm und keine naiven Kinder.
Wir sind ein stammesartiges, globales, massives Dorf, das nicht von den Gesetzen der Menschen, Raum und Zeit abhängt. Wir sind ein Tribe, da uns unsere Musik und unsere Art zu leben zu einer Einheit verbindet. Die Einheit.
Freeparties und Teknivals stellen sich der kapitalistischen Vorgabe entgegen, dass es hier auf dieser Welt nichts mehr kostenlos geben soll. Dass alles zum Produkt gemacht wird, welches einen Preis hat. Wir wehren uns dagegen, dass man auf dieser Welt alles kaufen muss.
Wir feiern und tanzen solange, bis die Sonne aufgeht und uns die Realität der Welt, die Ihr für uns geschaffen habt, einholt. Und so tanzen wir glücklich mit unseren Brüdern und Schwestern und feiern Tekno, uns miteinander, und unser Leben.


Bitte lasst uns anders sein dürfen!

Ihr mögt uns hassen. Ihr mögt uns ignorieren. Ihr mögt uns missverstehen. Es kann sein, dass Ihr unsere Existenz nicht wahrnehmen wollt. Wir hatten immer gehofft, dass Ihr uns einfach in Ruhe lassen würdet, dass Ihr uns nicht verurteilt, denn wir verurteilen Eure Art zu leben auch nicht.


In der Mitte des Lärms, finden wir die Ruhe, die wir suchen.

Wir werden weiterhin auf Wiesen und in Wäldern, in Lagerhallen und Trümmern zusammenkommen, also an Orten, die Ihr aufgegeben und ohne Grund zurückgelassen habt - und hauchen diesen Plätzen für eine Nacht oder ein einzelnes Wochenende Leben ein.
Ein starkes, explosives, pulsierendes Leben, in seiner hedonistischsten, reinsten und intensivsten Form. Wir werden weiterhin Tekno feiern, denn das ist der Sound, der uns glücklich macht und uns verbindet. Und unsere Liebe für das Leben, für einander und für die Welt zum Ausdruck bringt.


Dance before the police come

Ihr habt zwar die Macht, eine Party an einem beliebigen Abend in jeder beliebigen Stadt, in jedem beliebigen Land oder Kontinent auf diesem schönen Planeten stoppen könnt. Aber Ihr könnt niemals die ganze Party abschalten. Ihr habt keinen Zugang zu diesem Schalter - egal was Ihr denkt. Die Musik wird niemals aufhören. Der Herzschlag wird niemals verklingen. Die Party wird niemals enden.

FAG23: A Quarter Century of Vinyl Mixing and Tekno.

FAG23 - The acronym not only stands for the JOY OF SOUND but also for the sheer delight in the most vibrant tones and mind-bending sound distortions. We are not just listeners; we are sound adventurers, losing ourselves in the swirling dimensions of music while celebrating the most brutal sounds.

History
My journey began in 1996 when I started mixing vinyl records and producing music. The infection with electronic sounds occurred as early as 1992, laying the foundation for my Tekno life, which has been echoing electrically for 32 years now. In Cologne's then-only techno club "Warehouse," I experienced wild nights and discovered my love for electronic music and dancing. In an era when computers were still too slow to make music in real-time, we relied on the analog heroes of our sets: Roland SH-101, TB-303, TR-606, and the 808 and 909, along with Technics turntables. Along the way, there was also my record store NET-RECORDS in the late '90s or a Tekno pub, and so on.

Since then, proud 28 years have passed – 28 years of vinyl mixing, 28 years of Tekno. A time filled with ecstatic nights, danced sunrises, and the eternal search for the next groundbreaking beat.

But FAG23 is more than just a musical odyssey. It is a tribute to the FreeParty and Teknival culture that has captivated me for over 25 years. Starting with Spiral Tribe, the Reverends of Rhythm in Heilbronn, APA Soundsystem, and many others. The epic nights at FreeParties or at Easttek and Teknivals throughout Europe: All of this has forever shaped my life – and I wouldn't have wanted any other life.

For me, DJ mixing is not just the blunt play of tracks, one after another or the mundane stringing together of records. It is the art of merging two tracks and creating a unique sound that lives only in that moment and can only come alive live. That is FAG23-DJ-Mixing in its essence.

And let's not forget: Tekno means everything in my life. Music as a carrier of ideas! A constant flow of creativity that continually propels us forward. For more than 25 years, electronic music has not only been part of my life but my passion.

So, let's dance together through the quirky sounds of FAG23, losing ourselves in the beats with a smile.

We want to be free
We are trying to shed our inhibitions and free ourselves from the shackles and restrictions you have imposed on us for your own peace of mind. We are trying to rid ourselves of the burden of uncertainty for a future where your wars, your hatred, and your greed have failed to stabilize and secure it for us.

What I mean is that we are trying to rewrite the program that you have been trying to implant in us since the moment we were born. A matrix that works against us and seems to hate us, condemning everything that is different and disapproving when we become visible.

I'm referring to the program that you have been trying to implant in us from the first day of our lives, telling us that we should toil for you and teaching us to jump through burning hoops, wander through mazes, and run in hamster wheels.

Your inhumane culture tells us that it's better to eat from a shiny, golden spoon than to ensure that everyone is fed.

We are not against the system. The system is against us.

We are not criminals. We are not drug addicts. We are not disillusioned. We are not stupid, and we are not naive children.

We are a tribal, global, massive village that is not dependent on the laws of humans, space, and time. We are a tribe, as our music and our way of life unite us into one entity. The unity.

FreeParties and Teknivals defy the capitalist dictate that there should be nothing free in this world. That everything should be turned into a product with a price. We resist the notion that everything must be bought in this world.

We celebrate and dance until the sun rises and the reality of the world you have created for us catches up. And so, we dance happily with our brothers and sisters, celebrating Tekno, ourselves, and our lives together.

Please let us be different.
You may hate us. You may ignore us. You may misunderstand us. It's possible that you don't want to acknowledge our existence. We have always hoped that you would just leave us alone, that you wouldn't judge us, because we don't judge your way of life either.

In the midst of the noise, we find the peace we seek.

We will continue to gather on meadows and in forests, in warehouses and ruins, in places you abandoned and left without reason – breathing life into these places for a night or a single weekend.

A strong, explosive, pulsating life in its most hedonistic, purest, and intense form. We will continue to celebrate Tekno, as that is the sound that makes us happy and unites us. And we express our love for life, for each other, and for the world.

Dance before the police come
You may have the power to stop a party on any given night in any city, in any country, or continent on this beautiful planet. But you can never turn off the entire party. You don't have access to that switch - no matter what you think. The music will never stop. The heartbeat will never fade away. The party will never end.

Die Dresdner Clubkultur ist vielfältig und leuchtet weit über die Stadtgrenzen hinaus. DAVE – Dresden Audio Visual Experience – versteht sich als Podium, um einmal im Jahr die hiesige elektronische Subkulturszene in all ihrer Vielfältigkeit zu präsentieren.

Dabei denkt DAVE Clubkultur anders. Seit 2014 tritt das Festival an, um den Alltag der elektronischen Musik in Dresden aufzubrechen und deren Grenzen neu zu verschieben. Es sorgt für Bewegung und Begegnungen in der Dresdner Clubkultur. Dazu baut DAVE elektronische Klanglandschaften an vertrauten, aber auch außergewöhnlichen Orten. Menschen werden zusammengebracht, die sich sonst kaum zum kulturellen Austausch treffen. 

Zudem werden einzigartige kulturelle Erfahrungen geboten, die der Stadt offenbar gut zu Gesicht stehen. Immerhin wurde das Festival 2016 mit dem städtischen Förderpreis ausgezeichnet. DAVE findet zwar in Dresden statt, zeigt sich aber ausdrücklich offen gegenüber Künstler*innen und Projekten aus anderen Städten oder Ländern. Plattformen wurden geboren, die Profis und Nachwuchskünstler*innen dazu befähigen, selber spannende Projekte zu gestalten und auch aktiv bei DAVE mitzumachen, egal ob in musikalischem oder visuellem Rahmen. Das vielfältige Programm, das Jahr um Jahr erweitert wird,  ist deshalb nicht nur abwechslungsreich, sondern auch lehrreich. 

Für die Programmgestaltung sorgt ein weit verzweigtes Netzwerk von ehrenamtlich tätigen Akteurinnen und Akteuren der Dresdner Kultur- und Musikbranche, die eine gemeinsame Leidenschaft und jede Menge Idealismus vereint.

Das Staatsschauspiel Dresden ist das größte sächsische Sprechtheater und bespielt zwei Häuser. Das Schauspielhaus in der Altstadt hat einen nach historischem Vorbild renovierten Zuschauerraum mit 800 Plätzen. Das Kleine Haus in der Neustadt verfügt über insgesamt vier Spielstätten mit einer Kapazität von 100 bis 400 Plätzen. Das Staatsschauspiel Dresden bringt jährlich 25 Premieren heraus, hat ein umfangreiches Repertoire und erreicht mit über 850 Vorstellungen 250.000 Besucher im Jahr. Es gehört zu den am besten besuchten Häusern Deutschlands, Einladungen zu Festivals und Auszeichnungen zeugen von überregionaler Resonanz. Neben den großen Klassikern stehen Inszenierungen zeitgenössischer Dramatik, Uraufführungen und Festivals auf dem Programm.

Alex' first vinyl releases in 1999 were followed by numerous releases on various labels, among others the Media Records sub-label E.M.F. Electronic Motivated Force, Chrono Tracks and ETUI Records. In addition to his own productions, he is to be credited with the mastering of numerous tracks by artist friends, for whom he has also made remix productions. The list of his DJ appearances includes numerous top venues, festivals and events such as Mayday 2005 “Prototypes”, Sonne Mond Sterne Festival, Sputnik Turntable Days, Summer Spirit Festival and Loveparade (Berlin), just to name a few.

From 2005 to 2007, Alex ran his own techno club in Dresden (Germany), which was described by many as the city's premier techno club at the time. The monthly “The Fire” events, which he curated as resident DJ and promoter, showcased the top-class electronic artists of the time. In total, he has managed and supported more than 100 dance events.

In the following years, he focused on activities in the field of acoustics and sound reinforcement. Since 2010, Alex is responsible for research and development at internationally renowned manufacturers of high-quality professional loudspeaker systems.
