Breakbeat Paradise Recording is back to kick off another year with a solid funk release from the Greek funk band Nasa Funk who has cooked up the midtempo funky anthem Try &amp; Buy. The catchy original funk jam comes with a diverse package of remixes from Dal Platinum, TowlieDJ and Crash Party who has all taken their personal twist on the track.
Nasa Funk who consists of Alexandros Spanidis: drums / Costas Chasiotis: bass / Alexandros Papoulidis: guitar / Charis Kapetanakis: saxophone, keys / Georges Perin: vocals, talkbox released the epic Gonna Work It back in 2020 and are now ready to follow up on the success with this new EP release. The original cut starts out with lead vocalist George Perin showcasing some growling vocals before switching into his well-known falsetto voice while being backed up by a catchy funky backing track by the Nasa Funk band. Try &amp; Buy keeps us on our toes and takes us though a range of sections including the a solid saxophone solo ending with a talkbox vocal.
For the remix duties we looked for producers that could put different twists on the original while staying true to the funk vibes. Dal Platinum has done just that on his remix which combines some ghetto funk glitch sounds and some funky beats, which goes perfect with Nasa Funk&rsquo;s backing track.TowlieDJ has taken the vocals and flipped it into a true drum &lsquo;n&rsquo; bass anthem by bringing up the tempo and putting on some catchy basslines. To end things off Crash Party takes things back to the bigbeat era with some classic sirens and acid synth lines.

What a year 2022 has been for us at Dirtbox Recordings.

and we cannot thank everyone enough for their support.

Its been a standout year for us musically and with the quality of music we have been putting out from some tremendous artists.

The past year has seen us release 34 tracks across, 2 Singles, 1 album and 8 EPs while also dropping a huge `Best of, so far` album at the start of 2022.

Artists like Slaine, Traced & Lee UHF carried on their hit making ways dropping music for us while newcomers to the label Sigmus, Lifesize Mc, Varkid, ESKR, Avoider,

Composure, Dropset & Impex debuted for us in a big, big way.

Our Best of 2022 is a carefully curated list of some of the best music we have put out all year. It was a very hard choice but one where we felt certain tracks needed to be re-aired to reach our newer audience we have built recently and what better way than with a whole album.

Alongside this we have a sneak peak at 2 brand new artists about to make their mark with us with solo EPs due out later in 2023.

Scout 22 from the south of the UK and Gigan from Texas, USA More on them later in the year but you can hear a snippet of whats in store from them with 2 huge exclusive tracks “The Heavy” and “Heatwave”
Additionally for all those out there looking to hear the tracks continuously for their car or gym playlist. 

We have included a huge mix of the album by one of our favourite newer producers to the label Varkid. This is a high octane curated mix specifically featuring every single track put together in the form it was meant for.

I am working with music for almost 30 years and I start mixing tracks with two cassette players when I was about 10 years of age (playing radio DJ) with old disco music from the 70s and 80s. Not long after that when still listening to rock and disco music from my old vinyl records that belonged to my dad, for instance, Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Police, and many other variated sounds like the synthesizer's greatest collection.

It was there that my love for music started to evolve into a more serious thought of becoming a DJ one day. Now in a little time leap in 2010 I bought my first midi DJ controller the Behringer BCD 3000 which soon became a Reloop Digital Jockey 2 anyways I'd love to perform in my house with I think it was Virtual DJ (got to start somewhere) Long time short in 2017 I started due to illness have more motivation to produce the tracks that I loved myself mainly back in that day it was mostly Techno, Trance, and some Harder styles.

And the next chapter is having this new record label Bass Controllism Records in 2021 where we give all talented people from around the globe a platform to go to and mingle with like-minded people.

Too eventually, start up some nice collaborations and projects with each other.

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is a digital label founded in early 2006 by Boe Pedersen (Dj BadboE)in Denmark, and now based in Florida. The label originates from the music website Breakbeat Paradise that has been running since 1996. Breakbeat Paradise is dedicated to breakers and electronic musicians within the style of music that we can loosely term as breakbeat. Developing and improving this website over the last 10 years to include everything from visitor music sharing, annual breakbeat contests, samplekits and discussion forum. We felt that going into digital music distribution would be a natural next step.

The music material on the Breakbeat Paradise website has over 1000 pieces of music. Breakbeat Paradise Recordings will  pick up the very best  “cream of the crop”, artists  and tunes and release them as digital downloads through Breakbeat Paradise Recordings  collaborative partners . We found digital distribution would match perfect with our cutting-edge funky breakbeat music and the fastest way from  the streets – to the listener and dancefloor!

With only exclusive vinyl and digital releases , we are always focused on the most important thing for us – the music! 

The music will span from traditional nu funk and funky breaks to more dancefloor oriented ghetto funk,  future funk and big beat as well as hip hop with a glitch and the more mellow side of the drum ‘n’ bass and nu breaks. The sound of Breakbeat Paradise is driven by an emphatic beat that is intended to form a leitmotif between the releases.

Even though releases from Breakbeat Paradise will be coming from different artists, we always uniform a sound by focusing within the genres of breakbeat.  Collaborators and musicians work close together on our label and we are always ensuring a brand of selective “state of the art“, quality and sound .

We will devote ourselves to deliver the phattest, funkiest and the biggest grooves to be found out there...
