NB : Cette entrevue a été enregistrée à l’automne 2024, avant l’entrée en vigueur du projet de loi 15. Certains éléments du système ont évolué depuis, mais les réflexions partagées ici demeurent pertinentes.
Dans cet épisode, je reçois à nouveau la Dre Élyse Berger Pelletier pour une discussion éclairante sur l’organisation du réseau de santé au Québec et les enjeux liés au vieillissement de la population.
Nous débutons par une analyse du fonctionnement des soins dans la grande région de Québec, avec un regard clinique et gestionnaire éclairé.
Ensuite, nous abordons le défi majeur du vieillissement imminent : le fameux tsunami gris. Selon le rapport Horizon 2040, si rien ne change, la demande en services de soutien à l’autonomie augmentera de 69 % d’ici 2040, passant de 324 400 personnes en 2023 à plus de 545 000. Et ce n’est qu’une des statistiques abordées.
Dans cet épisode, nous explorons notamment :
1-Le concept d’âgisme, parfois implicite, dans les pratiques cliniques et organisationnelles.
2-La notion opérationnelle du "niveau de soins" : enjeux, utilité et significations selon les contextes.
3-La question existentielle : qu’est-ce qu’être âgé en 2025 ? (avec des perspectives biologiques, administratives et sociales) — y compris l’idée surprenante selon laquelle le corps humain serait théoriquement conçu pour une espérance de vie fonctionnelle de 35 à 45 ans.
Une conversation profonde et pertinente avec une experte, qui jette un regard lucide sur notre avenir collectif et la manière dont nous voulons prendre soin de ceux qui vieillissent, et de nous, ultimement.

Big episode this week as the billionaire assault on workers rights isn't slowing down, nor are efforts to organize against it. We start with updates on workers at Lowe's, Costco, Amazon, Wells Fargo, Republic Services, Airgas,  GM, and Newark Airport.  Waste management workers aren't just fighting for a fair wage in the US, in Birmingham in the UK they've been on a series of strikes since March. We've got several stories this week of how educators are organizing against attacks on anti-genocide speech. The AAUP are fighting against the McCarthyite attacks in court, Rank and File members of the NEA are fighting to get the ADL's anti-Palestinian materials out of schools, and student workers at CUNY and University of Michigan are fighting to keep speech alive on their campuses. Finally, we check in on some of the impacts of ICE's reign of terror around the country, and the ways workers are coming up with new tactics of community resistance.

Ryck from Berne, Switzerland plays different styles of D&B Jungle since '97, co-hosted the monthly D&B radioshow "RaBass 95.6 FM" from 2005 to 2018, co-launched the monthly https://soundcloud.com/bern-bass-podcast -series of episodes in 2014 and co-promoted the Liquid Session D&B-Eventseries at Dachstock Reitschule Berne until its demise in 2024. After co-releasing tracks with Konfront.Audio and FD on Soul Deep and Sunandbass Recordings, he launched the now dormant label https://bernbassrecords.bandcamp.com in 2020 that so far had three Bandcamp-only releases featuring Swiss artists exclusively. 
After many years playing at major events and venues all over Switzerland such as Mute, Bierhübeli or Rohstofflager, with highlights such as going b2b with LTJ Bukem in Basel or being featured in a Swiss D&B documentary, today Ryck is a regular DJ at DARKSIDE at Dachstock Berne, HOTBOX Zürich, REFLECTION Winterthur and VIVID Basel.
