I wanted to make sure that nobody would mistake this album for an attempt at pop. If you want toe tapping chart charters, this is not it. Instead, what you get with this one is heaping pile of high concept slop. It will bend your sensibilities, make you wonder about me, and yourself. 

This is an album of emotional misinformation. A lo-fi grunge ballad and a Bulgarian seduction anthem walk into a furniture store after the apocalypse—and nobody stops them. Low Effort Music is a genre-jumping fever dream held together by static electricity, dubious math, and one very judgmental poodle.

These aren’t  songs. They’re unreliable narrators, rejected soundtracks, self-aware metaphors, and doomed love letters to the void. It’s Americana after three edibles. It’s pop if pop gave up pretending. It’s Dada with a debit card.

Every track sounds like it was recorded in a different universe—but somehow, it’s all unmistakably Lynn Cole. Don’t ask how. She won’t tell you.

**FRIDGE HUM IN OUTER SPACE** представляет собой уникальное аудио-исследование, где бытовые звуки превращаются в космический звуковой ландшафт. Проект сочетает в себе элементы дадаизма, нойза и экспериментального техно, создавая совершенно новый музыкальный опыт.

**FRIDGE HUM IN OUTER SPACE** демонстрирует, как обыденные звуки могут превратиться в космический звуковой эксперимент, где абсурд и искусство переплетаются в едином потоке творчества.

Um mich der Wort-für-Wort-Vertonung eines Gedichts im Stile Schuberts oder Schumanns zu entziehen, habe ich in bester Ursus Wehrli-Manier die Worte des Heinrich Heine-Gedichts ‘Sommerabend’ erst aufgeräumt, dann allerdings wieder neu zusammengesetzt. Aus ‘Dämmernd liegt der Sommerabend’ wurde so ‘dememrand legit red sobememrand’. Da das Gedicht in der unaufgeräumten Original-Version aber doch ein wenig langweilig ereignisarm war, habe ich in der Mitte des Stücks einige deutschsprachige – und ebenso aufgeräumte und neu zusammengesetzte – Zeilen des Songs ‘Götterdämmerung’ der Metal-Band ‘Zeal & Ardor’ eingeschoben. Angereichert wurde der fertige Text mit Silben wie ‘jo lo lo’ oder ‘da ba da ba dam’. Man möge also gar nicht erst versuchen, einem möglichen lyrischen Sinn des Texts zu folgen. Ausser, man steht auf Dadaismus, dann bin ich auf mögliche Deutungen gespannt.
Die ungewohnte Besetzung Sopran & Violine erforderte ein vertieftes Denken in der Horizontalen. Beide Parteien nehmen explizit nicht die Rollen ‘Melodie’ und ‘Begleitung’ ein, sondern sind gleichgestellt.
Das Stück entstand als Auftragskomposition für das Othmar Schoeck Festival 2024. Vielen Dank Alvaro Schoeck für den Auftrag und die Möglichkeit!
