Today’s essay is a revised and updated essay from the summer of 2022. It explores the idea that yoga is very often, and very likely mostly, used as a popular drug-free yet drug-like activity that allows yogi and yogini wannabes to easily fall into spiritual by-pass instead of developing authentic yogic equanimity. I had observed very early in my own yoga journey this phenomenon in 2016. And my assessment of yoga as spiritual by-pass was absolutely confirmed with the convid and how so-called yogis instead of standing with equanimity and strength for freedom against medically induced tyranny joined the panicked and embraced medical tyranny and anti-social shunning and cancelling practices.

Auch in Barbara Millers vorigen zwei Dokumentarfilmen stehen Protagonistinnen im Mittelpunkt, die für eine gerechtere Welt kämpfen: Sowohl in «Forbidden Voices» als auch in «#Female Pleasure» porträtierte sie Frauen, die in allen Weltregionen dafür kämpfen, ein würdiges und selbstbestimmtes Leben zu führen. Barbara Miller studierte Jus sowie auch Filmwissenschaft, Philosophie und Psychologie. Über die Mitarbeit am Film «War Photographer» über den Kriegsfotografen James Nachtwey tauchte sie in die die Filmwelt ein und ist seit 2001 als freischaffende Regisseurin von Dokumentarfilmen tätig. In ihren gesellschaftskritischen Filmen ging es z. B. um häusliche Gewalt oder den Pornografie-Konsum von Kindern und Jugendlichen. Seit 2017 ist sie auch Präsidentin des Regie- und Drehbuchverbands Schweiz. Die aus Winterthur stammende Regisseurin ist 54 Jahre alt und lebt in Zürich.

The exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, the 14th Dalai Lama, marked his 90th birthday earlier this month with an announcement that his successor as Tibetan Buddhism’s most senior religious figure would be a reincarnation, to be identified after his death by the staff of his office in Dharamsala in northern India — where he has lived since fleeing Tibet in 1959 after a failed uprising against Chinese rule. The announcement is likely to set up a clash with Beijing, which says it alone has the right to confirm the selection of the next Dalai Lama, and points to its possession of historical relics, including a golden urn from the Qing dynasty traditionally used to select the reincarnations of senior lamas. So how will Tibetans inside and outside China respond if two different Dalai Lamas are nominated? Could the exiled community abandon the current Dalai Lama’s emphasis on seeking only autonomy for Tibet under Chinese rule? And how will this affect India, which has offered shelter to the Tibetan exiled administration, but has recently been seeking to improve its relations with Beijing? Tsering Shakya, professor of Tibetan history at the University of British Columbia, and Robbie Barnett, professorial research associate at SOAS and former professor of contemporary Tibetan studies at Columbia University, join us to share their thoughts.

Hi all, so from 2016 to 2024 I assembled and produced a large collection of covers of many of my favorite tunes as my own hobby (and many during COVID lock-downs!) and I have accumulated over 2,800,000 plays across the world which is awesome!

I am much more of a producer that a musician. These first 8 years of my music was mostly based on midi cover tracks often downloaded from the Internet but heavily reproduced and re-imagined variously on my two Yamaha keyboards (Clavinova and PSR 975), but also using PC midi editing & DAW software.

Towards the end of that period, I added some of my more original electronic music which I produced over the past two decades under the name of Funkleberry in order to consolidate my Soundcloud accounts. 

But in 2024 I got into AI music generation and I am now  a freelance sonwriter and AI music producer. It's been a fun journey!
