My guest on this week’s show is choreographer, movement director and visual artist Che Yubina.

I jumped on a Zoom call to find out more about Che’s pivotal moment of creative transformation, why she recently retired from her Cheshir Ha persona, deep dive into her choreography work, new-found artistic freedom and her mission to challenge the idea of perfection within the K-pop music industry.

Had the pleasure of collaborating with Siena Avalon Ciancia on an improvisation-based dance class where she guided people through the exploration of pleasure, play and liberation. Siena brings in her own research as a professional dancer to inspire her students to connect to their own body’s intuitive movement. Reaching this connection takes students though a journey led not only by Sienas instruction, but also guided by the sounds. We spent a great amount of intention choosing songs to help students get there, and I was entrusted with the responsibility of following along spontaneously to the flow of the class. The set takes some drastic tempo and genre shifts to match the classes energy which will also keep you curious as a listener. We hope it inspires some movement within yourself :)

Hi, this is Chia-En. Here you’ll find many of my improvised creations for dance, along with music inspired by nature, life’s paths, and beautiful landscapes. Each of these moments is a unique and unrepeatable treasure to me. Thank you for being here!

DJ RAY BON also known as LESA BJORN is an artist, producer and songwriter from Bulgarian descent. He is known for his amazing parties, music knowledge, and his greater ability to connect with the audience. 
 
By his early 20s RAY BON has already been recognised by many in the music industry. His agenda quickly got to be overloaded, as he became a frequent guest artist of all the big nightclubs and music festivals in Bulgaria. He spent the Summer of 2012 in the USA, where he was truly introduced to the American culture and music.

By his mid twenties RAY BON already shared the stage with world known artists like DJ Jazzy Jeff, Tyga, Chris Brown, G-Unit, Antonia, Connor Maynard, Marquese Scott, Skiller, Leeroy Thornhill of The Prodigy, and many more. He won “Favourite DJ Award” from the 2013’s Bulgarian national “359 HIP HOP AWARDS”. The young talent participated in big concert tours like “Coca Cola Happy Energy Tour”. As a key point to his success RAY BON states that the love for performing, and constantly playing 4-5 gigs a week, kept his mind always focused on what the audience desires, and how to fulfil their wishes best. 

As he turned 25 years of age, he continued his musical career in Marbella, Spain - one of the World’s finest party destinations. He played frequent gigs in exclusive clubs like Pangea Marbella, News Cafe and SISU Boutique Hotel & Living Room. The music scene on “Costa del Sol” was jagging in summer rhythms that never let the public take a rest. Marbella is where the young talent was introduced to the Spanish culture, art and music.

Moving to live in London a couple years later, gave him another great influence, and made him recognize new genres like UK Garage, Grime and Afro beats, only it was natural for him to blend it in his mixing sessions. RAY BON scored guest appearances around Europe, touring nightclubs and festivals, always exciting the crowd with a blend of fresh new music and perfect experience. Online listeners are always satisfied and happy with his frequent uploads of new music and mixtapes, on his YouTube, Spotify, and Soundcloud pages. 

Recognized as a natural talent, DJ RAY BON brings thrill to any party through both technical skills and music selection, as he continues rising to the top as one of the most innovative and exciting DJs on the music scene.

Inspired by the modern Afro House & Tech House sound and motivated by his peers from the worldwide festival scene DJ RAY BON picked up a second stage name - LESA BJORN.

Andrew Wowk is a DJ, producer, radio host, promoter, and writer who has been active in the Eora (Sydney) electronic music scene for over 20 years. First introduced to dance music culture through work experience at community radio station Rhythm FM at age 16, Andrew exudes a passion for and knowledge of music that is the result of years of experience.

As a DJ, Andrew has earned a reputation for refined technical skills and eclectic track selection. His tastes run the gamut of techno, house, breakbeat, drum & bass and jungle, electro, and leftfield electronica, demonstrating a deep respect for the history of dance music, a love for its present, and excitement about its future. But even with such a wide range of music at his disposal, he finds ways to combine various sounds into a cohesive whole. Often focused more on telling a story or creating a particular feeling with his sets, he regularly moves fluidly across stylistic boundaries, preferring to find other similarities between tracks than just their genre.

His intelligent approach to DJing has led to him playing at some of Sydney and Australia's most well-respected clubs/events, both as a headliner and as a support act for international artists. He has also received international recognition, being invited to play guest sets at Circus Osaka in Japan, DEPTH and Train Car House Party in Seattle, as well as perform on 313.FM in Detroit, WNYU in New York, and provide mixes for Animal Instinct in Berlin, Fnoob Radio, and Error Sessions in the UK.

Outside of club DJing, Andrew also produces music under the alias End User License Agreement, which has been released on labels such as Biotech Recordings, Baroque Recordings, Extra Spicy, Communication Records, Monarch Recordings, and Late Night Music. His remix of Floor Twenty’s “Say My Name” and his original track “Chonk” were both featured in Beatport’s and Juno's best bass music releases from 2021. He also hosts a weekly radio show "Time To Track" on 2SER, regularly writes for both print and online media, and runs events covering the spectrum of underground dance music, featuring previous headliners such as Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Marcus Intalex, Regis, Hodge, Adriana Lopez, Djinn, SNTS, and Nastia Reigel. 

Andrew is passionate about social and political issues and strongly believes in using music as a medium for addressing these issues. Much of the music he loves was originally created in tandem with social, cultural, and political movements, and he believes that contemporary music should also carry a message. To put this into practice, he launched Music For Change, a label which donates 100% of profits from all releases to various charities, alongside Jessica Tassone in 2021. Releases on the label have been supported by international artists such as Dave Clarke, Ani Klang, and Alchemist/Amy Kisnorbo, played on BBC Radio 1, and added to the rotation on local radio stations FBI Radio and 2SER.
