01 Singularity

Had this little idea, played out the initial idea to completion. Think it sounds cool and neat. The root descends and passes many octaves within the chord until resolving peacefully. I don't think this would work on an instrument with higher tunings. Lower frequency in the bass allows the close grouping of the notes to meld well. Tried to spic up the tone with some effects, used a grain delay, but in the end the EQ'd DI tone from the Darkglass A/O just sounded way too good to mess with. This is not JUST dry tone, of course I have reverb, chorus, delay (and grain delay), and a dirty tone mixed with this, hardly decipherable mixed together but add to the overall vibe.

I was listening to the newer songs from Last Chance to Reason, and thought, "I can write a creepy heavy verse riff like that". It did not come out the way I anticipated, but had its own flavor so I rolled with it.

Originally I was not going to add vocals to it at all, however, I was inspired after a phone call with one of my close friends regarding one of our mutual friend's destructive behavior. This is very likely to become part of Iscah's next project, Instructions Unclear.

Lyrical inspiration is based on a flame burning too fast, too bright. An Icarus flying too close to the sun too soon. A man at wits end, burning the candle at both ends.

Duly Noted (Iscah Demo 2024)

This started as a piano melody for a hip-hop song I was working on. I had a shower-thought of this bass line which matched the key of the pressure in my showerhead. It was this bouncing bass and rolling bass groove, and immediately I realized the shower head bass groove and the hip-hop track I started months ago were in the same key.

I want to do covers, collaborate, or write for you. My voice is mostly suited for modern metal/progressive metal (djent). However, I love many differing styles of music and can work with whatever you have in mind. So don't let the pedigree deceive you. I am no producer, so almost everything I have here is a demo. I also love playing bass and writing grooves. My skill is not solely vocals if you wish. Metal bass is just one color in my palette. I can also be a consult and objective ear/suggestive mind for your writing.

The band was conceived in 2019 by Benoit Serret (bass) and Clément Réviriego (guitar and
production). They were later joined in the studio by Clément Denys on drums and Flavien Morel on
keyboards and arrangements, to work on their debut album, The Dark Playground, which was
released on April 19, 2021.

In early 2022, the band began working with Thomas Hilaire (drums) and decided to include several
guest musicians. They were joined once again by the brass section already present on the first
album (Emilie Klipfel on saxophone, Olivier Viseux on trombone and Nicolas Renard on trumpet),
and also by a long list of singers (Yann Ligner from Klone, to name but one) as well as saxophonist
Cyril Prevost.
The band signed a contract with the label Wormholedeath and released two tracks in December
2022 ("Silver Tree" and "Dearest Wind"), but we'll have to wait until April 19th, 2024 to discover
the full album, entitled Lunaison!
