No standardized tests given at the national level and no school rankings. In addition, there are no inspection procedures for learning institutions. The state fully trusts school leaders and teachers in developing their students. They also help and assist with support and funding.

Children should not be taught to memorize pieces of information and at no stage should children sit formal or national exams. 'What you learn without joy, you forget without grief' is an old Finnish saying.

There should be relatively low amount of homework. Homework should be seen more as a recap of what has been learned in the class but it is not supposed and should take a hours of time at home. Usually students should finish the rest of the assignments that was covered during the lesson and read through the next chapter.
