A pretty random mix I put together, but it features some of my favourite songs over the years. Starts off hard dance, stuff from labels like 'Traffic', who were merging the hard trance and hard dance sound at the time. BK was always a good example of hard dance to me. It wasn't hard house, but had hard house elements, it was slightly techy sounding. Halfway through, I switch it up and play hard trance, starting with Dave Joy's remix of the now classic 'Pure Thrust'. Big standout here for me, was Kamui. They totally destroyed the scene with their music! Also 'Alright' from Phil York & DBD was always standout for me. Loved the vocals and overall feel, made me wanna dance kind of thing. I finish up with a cheeky bootleg from Wragg & Log:One and their version of the classic 'Fire Wire'. BANG! A explosive journey through hard dance and hard trance from around the world! 2006-2011 era.

A new episode of Connections just for you! This is a special two hour mix containing some of my all time favorite trance tracks. 

Trance is the genre that first pulled me into electronic music, just before the turn of the millenium, arguably when trance was at it's absolute finest. 

I haven't kept up with the trance scene, but the tracks you will hear in this mix (plus a bunch more) have a special place in my soul. Enjoy!

Another hidden Hard Trance classic resurrected - NUCLEAR DEVICE by Switzerland's DAVE202 was released as a vinyl in 2006 on Drizzly Music's mighty Planet Traxx imprint - along with a slamming remix from Joyride Music honcho DAVE JOY.

Nuclear Device was followed by a couple of releases on Armada's Captivating Sounds and the three Phoenix Recordings singles "Departure" (2009), "Exposé" and "Arrival" (both 2010) all of which are all still available digitally. Years later, Madwave & Chris SX made fantastic Uplifting Trance remakes of "Departure" (2019) and "Arrival" (2023) which both climbed the Beatport Trance charts.

His year long work at Zurich's legendary club OXA, a DJ since the 90s, various mix compilations and countless single releases since 1998 and most of all his publicly celebrated love for Cordon-Bleu, made him the living legend he is today. Even though years after his official retirement from the Trance scene, the Italian-Swiss artist is still active in the music industry... who knows what the future holds!

This mix is a superb representation of golden era trance and hard trance, plus early snippets of hardstyle at the very end, with early Fusion and Scantraxx. Tracks from the 2001-2002 era. Full of some of my favorites over the years. I think 'Fast Forward... (To Madness) is my absolute go to tune. I remember seeing Jason Midro play this remix at Bass Station a few times. Still ingrained in my soul.

With the Hard Trance Master hitting Barry Town for the WRONGUNS crew come March 7th, I have put together this promo/tribute mix featuring all MY personal fav tunes, old & new, by the main man himself.

Even though it was nostalgic to hear the crackle of the vinyl and the ‘beats bouncing off each other’ - I tell ya what - beat matching some of those wavering vinyl rips, in my style of mixing, was a right old effort! But I got It done, as I wanted to do as I do - and put out an authentic representation of me too.

So, I hope that, in the effort,  I have done Frank, the Tunes and your memories justice.

Godfather’ - ‘Legend’ - ‘International Hero’. All accolades attributed by loving fans Worldwide to the DJ, Producer and scene pioneer known as ‘Slipmatt’. Anyway, on to the Hard Trance & Old Skool DJ, Chuck-E, who has now ‘retired’ from the dance music scene.

Wales’ premier Hard Trance DJ, Chuck-E, has enjoyed a long illustrious career in the hard dance scene, spanning back 26 years, to 1997. Originally playing Old Skool hardcore & Drum & Bass is his bedroom, progressing on to the Hard Trance sound he is known for today.

His resume contains headline shows in countries including South Korea, Australia, Holland, and Norway, as well as holding many residencies over the years, at events such as Breathe, GBH, Sugar, Trancefusion, The Square, and Panic Room. 

He was one of the most frequently booked DJs at the mighty Bionic events and has played guest slots for virtually every major and well-respected Hard Dance promotor in England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland, with Frantic, Goodgreef, Storm, Ministry of Sound, HTID, Tranzaction, Westfest, Escape into the Park, Back To The Future, Concept, Ripsnorter, North, and Sanctuary Festival, all included on extensive the list.

The triumphant 2005-2012 partnership with Jon the Baptist (coined by UK hard dance kings Frantic as ‘The UK’s number 1 Hard Trance Team) would see them set up the hugely popular ‘Intolerance Recordings’ imprint to showcase the bulk of their studio creations, alongside being signed to the massive ‘Future Sound Corporation’ label in Italy, releasing hits such as ‘Magic’ - ‘A new hope’ and remixing for the legendary Yoji Biomehanika. 

Career accolades include winning the national PYP DJ competition, plus joining Kutski for a special guest feature on BBC Radio 1 and having his ‘Science Fiction’ album release party at the mighty 55,000 strong ‘Defqon1’ festival, run by Q-dance in the Netherlands, in which his track ‘What is reality’ featured on their DVD release.

Chuck-E has never been one to ‘follow the crowd’ - always looking to be original in the way he plays and performs, his energetic showmanship and crowd-pleasing personality combine perfectly with his unique and diverse sets, making him one of the most popular DJs on the circuit. Although known as – and predominantly a Hard Trance DJ (being a huge ambassador of the sound) expect things to be mixed up relentlessly, with the full spectrum of Hard Trance on display, sprinkled with Bootlegs and varied edits from the Hard Techno & Electro, Schranz, Drum & Bass and Hardcore scenes.

With him retiring from DJ’ing, music, and the everyday tasks of the scene 8 years ago, due to tinnitus and ear problems, he has recently returned to the digital turntables, and we are accepting a select number of gigs
