Hungarian producer Dave Wincent makes his 2nd solo release with Soma on his ‘New Weapons’ EP. His brand of minimalist yet tough techno has become a firm favourite at Soma HQ and this 2nd full outing on the label packs no less of a punch.

Title track New Weapons hits hard with a space age, sci fi twist before the darker, more cerebral 12082023 takes hold. Beyond Paradise delivers on a more darker tone but more groovy, rhythmic elements keep it grounded and closing tracks Death Row pick s up the pace perfectly with a driven, percussive and atmospheric vibe.

Born in Buenos Aires and actually based in Amsterdam, with a large number of releases behind him since the beginning of 2017, on labels of the caliber of Dynamic Reflection, Mindtrip, Edit Select, Suara, Children of Tomorrow, Illegal Alien, Emerald, ANAOH, Methodical, KSR just to name a few, already at the beginning of 2020 made his debut on [R]3volution Records with 'Mutual Premonition EP', in 2021 he participated with his remix of 'Ancestral' in Vol.2 of 'Michele Mausi R3mixes EP' and in 2022 it is part of the vinyl VA [R]3volution Heroes Vol.2 with the track 'Interdimensional Deja Vu', which in this new EP is re-proposed in 5 super remixes curated by one of our top artists Dave Wincent, who certainly doesn't need of presentations, 3 pure emerging talents from the [R]3volution Uncod3d Roster who debut on [R]3volution Records such as Dani Durán, Playmo, Toobris and the label owner Michele Mausi. An unreleased track, 'Brakjam Key', opens the EP. Another release that will certainly leave its mark on dance floors across the planet for the next few months...

This is the second episode of our monthly podcast 'Nachtstrom Sessions‘ mixed by Dave Wincent!

Dave Wincent was born in Miskolc, Hungary. Since the age of 12, he has been completely consumed by music. He started out on his musical journey learning to play the drums and saxophone. So, it was from a very early age that he recognised and understood rhythm and melody. By the age of 14, he began to take music seriously, with the goal of performing at a professional level, at the top of his to-do list.

Like most, Dave started out playing at small parties in Hungary and on the local radio stations. He would spend all of his money growing his record collection. Soon after starting to DJ regularly and by the age of 16, he became interested in the production side of the music he was playing. The deeper he delved into it, the more important it became for him to learn and produce his own music. He first made music, using only his computer before expanding his equipment set up to include analog and digital Synthesizers. He worked very hard to develop his own unique style both behind the decks as a DJ and in the studio as a music producer.

In recent years Dave’s career has blossomed and he has been booked for more and more shows. This gave him the opportunity for travel and to reach audiences further afield in Miskolc and in the City of Budapest.

In 2009, Dave Wincent released his first artist EP. This changed everything for him. In recent years with releases on Materia, SOMA, Phobos Records, KD Raw, Olympian, and Nachstrom Schallplatten, he is building quite the production discography. These releases have been the key to his success in building his profile to be globally recognisable.

Dave loves what he does as an artist. Reaching people across the world with his music has and will always be the dream. Long may this continue!
