Víctor García es un diseñador sonoro, explorador y compositor de largo recorrido cuyos pasos han ido mutando a lo largo de los años hasta cristalizar en su proyecto más personal hasta la fecha: la contundente electrónica de Death Whistle. 

Su carrera compositiva se ha centrado en la última década en la creación de bandas sonoras, tanto para videojuegos como para celebrados trabajos fílmicos como «Decorado», «Psiconautas, los niños olvidados» o «Sangre de Unicornio», piezas con dos Goyas entre sus múltiples galardones y que le han valido reconocimientos como la selección en Aubagne, festival especializado en compositores para el medio audiovisual.

 Con Death Whistle, Víctor García traslada el aura potente y cinemática de sus obras al escenario y a la pista a través de paisajes sonoros, ruidismo y punzantes melodías que envuelven a la espectadora en una experiencia desarmante, inmersiva, subterránea, prófuga irresoluble entre lo onírico y lo terrenal. Sus impactantes directos le han ganado una y otra vez el favor de una audiencia rendida.

Woodwind solo over improvised percussion, all performed on an Emu modular synth in about 1983. The wretched gong was a mistake, if any traces of it still show. Live and learn. The circle is called Rock Rings, and is a sculpture on the campus of Western Washington University, in which arcane rituals were conducted under cover of nightfall.

Death Whistle closes this EP with a unique take on the Aztec history. The dark rituals from the death whistle are a famous tale which are implemented in this track. Make sure you are not in the wild when you hear the Death Whistle!

'My sound journey draws inspiration from the haunting sound of the Aztec death whistle and the ancient concept of entering the underworld, exploring themes of grief and transformation. As the Aztecs believed, the death whistle's eerie sound was thought to mimic the cries of the deceased and served as a tool to guide souls on their journey to the afterlife.

In my journey, I use sound to create a deeply immersive experience, evoking the emotions and sensations associated with grief and the passage into the underworld. Through carefully crafted compositions and sonic landscapes, participants are invited to confront their own experiences of loss and transformation.

The journey begins with a solemn and introspective tone, reflecting the initial stages of grief and the sense of entering into the unknown. As the sound progresses, it builds in intensity, mirroring the tumultuous emotions and challenges encountered on the journey through the underworld.

However, amidst the darkness, there are moments of light and clarity, where the transformative power of grief is revealed. Through the cathartic release of sound, participants are able to confront their grief, find solace in the process of transformation, and emerge on the other side with a renewed sense of strength and resilience.

Ultimately, my sound journey serves as a testament to the profound healing potential of sound and music, guiding participants on a transformative journey of grief and renewal inspired by the ancient traditions of the Aztec underworld'.
