I remember that moment like it was yesterday.
The first time I heard Adagio for Strings in William Orbit’s version, something inside me shifted. That melody hit me so deeply – it was the first time I truly felt I wanted to create music.
Today, years later, I’m sharing my own tribute to Samuel Barber’s original 1936 composition – a piece often called the saddest piece of music ever written.
This is my organic house interpretation of that timeless emotion.
It’s not an official remix – it’s a personal journey through sound and memory.

Originally from Poland and now based in Belgium, DJ Cantona is a dynamic presence in the electronic music scene, a proud member of the LUCID collective, and a resident DJ at Saturo Sounds. His journey began in 2012 with a passion for electronic music, and since committing fully in 2022, he has been steadily rising, drawing listeners into his sound. Cantona shares his story through his bi-weekly podcast, PRESS PLAY, on SoundCloud, where he weaves progressive, melodic, deep, and organic house into thoughtful journeys. After the warm reception of my Adagio for Strings, I felt the need to return to the classics and give them my own emotions, my own breath.
This piece has always held a special meaning for me — it’s music that has inspired me for years, taught me sensitivity, and shaped who I am as an artist.
This is my personal, deeply emotional version — dedicated to all those who struggle with loneliness and depression.
