Umbonia is a four-piece EP in which, through the combination of sounds of nature and deep progressive house, the soundscape of various natural places in Antioquia/Colombia merges with this musical genre.

The name of the project, "Umbonia", comes from the scientific name of a particular insect, native to Latin America, the Umbonia Spinosa. I chose this name because from a very young age I used to see these insects near my house and they always seemed extremely striking to me: their shape did not seem natural, because I always imagined them as if they were artificial ships or even aliens. However, as strange as they may seem, they are part of nature, and this makes the choice of their name for the EP meaningful, due to this union between their natural origin -the soundscape of each place- and my subjective appreciation of its "artificiality" -electronic music.
