A Dream Haunting – Dean R. Chandler

Whilst I’m waiting for my official concept album A Human Odyssey (due January 2027) to be fully produced, here’s a preview of one of its featured tracks — though this version is an AI interpretation.

I actually wrote A Dream Haunting about ten years ago — strangely enough, while taking a shower. Inspiration has a habit of catching me off guard like that. My upcoming album version will be closer to the original demo I recorded back then, featuring my own vocals rather than AI ones.

The song itself is about a man who encounters an other-dimensional being — a radiant, ethereal entity who reaches out to him across the veil. She offers him visions of his past lives and the interconnectedness of all his experiences — love, pain, joy, and sorrow. Through her guidance, he begins to understand the deeper meaning of existence — that our lives are echoes of the same eternal soul, learning and evolving through time.

This AI version captures the dreamlike, otherworldly atmosphere of that encounter — a haunting reflection on what it means to awaken to the truth beyond the human veil.

“The Grifter” came from watching someone rewrite history in real time — shifting blame, reshaping truth, and walking away untouched. I used to take it personally, as if their lies defined my worth. But this song became my way of letting that go — not forgiving, not forgetting, but freeing myself from their orbit. There’s a strange beauty in realizing that closure doesn’t always come from them; sometimes it comes from the echo left behind.

🔻 Personal Reflection

This song came from the quietest part of grief — that space between screaming and silence.
“Hands Pressed” was born out of exhaustion, from the years of trying to be heard by someone who only wanted to echo their own voice.
It’s about emotional deafness — when love becomes one-sided, and silence turns into self-preservation.

For me, it was the moment of surrender. Not to the pain, but to peace — the understanding that I can’t rescue someone who’s determined to drown.
Now the water doesn’t represent fear; it represents release.

Many of my songs are inspired by life itself and love, both its beautiful and challenging moments.

Although it may sound simple, it’s not always the case. Completing a song can take days or even weeks. I use a mixing console to create remixes and remove distracting elements like noise and heavy bass, making the songs more enjoyable to listen to.
I am working on training an AI music program in Danish, while also taking advantage of my freedom to transform both my old and new songs into music.

I’m Dean R. Chandler — a London based songwriter, recording artist, and storyteller. My music is rooted in a lifelong search for meaning, weaving together themes of love, loss, faith, alien contact, and humanity’s future.

My upcoming double concept album Human Odyssey (set for release in January 2027) is the culmination of decades of writing and reflection. Musically, it draws inspiration from the epic storytelling of Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds, the synth-driven edge of Gary Numan, and the emotional depth of artists like Tori Amos and Chris de Burgh.

I previously released Time Machine – Reflecting Shattered Dreams (2014) and continue to revisit my archive of songs written across 35 years, reimagining them with today’s tools and sounds. Some pieces remain intimate and acoustic, while others expand into dark rock, industrial, or orchestral landscapes — but all are connected by a focus on emotional honesty and cinematic storytelling.

Beyond music, I’m fascinated by the intersection of creativity and technology. I’ve been experimenting with AI-driven composition and production to bring old demos to life and to spark entirely new works. For me, these tools are not replacements for human artistry but extensions of it — ways of unlocking stories and emotions that otherwise might have remained hidden.

I’ve been stalked by my own thoughts since I was a kid — insomnia, rage, regret, voices that don’t shut up. So I put ‘em on beats. I don’t spit for the crowd. I spit for the shadows. My sound? Dark club trap dipped in paranoia, smeared with melody and madness.

Sometimes I sing. Sometimes I scream. Sometimes I don’t say a word — just let the silence talk for me.

Music has always been my escape. It’s carried me through the darkest nights and the brightest days, shaping the way I see the world. I’ve always been drawn to lyrics—the message behind the music—because they let me create my own vision, my own story. Writing songs became my way of speaking when words failed me. For years, I held everything inside until music gave me the outlet I needed. Now I pour my heart into every lyric I write, hoping my songs can reach someone the way music has always reached me

Born in Gaston, Alabama, raised between the struggle and the South, Will B’s story reads like a movie. One that’s still being written. By the time most kids were learning their ABCs, he was learning survival. Basement floors, rats the size of house pets, and a home full of chaos didn’t break him they built him.

When his mom married, his stepdad, he considered him his true dad. He brought God into the picture. But Will? He was already running wild. By 7, sexual temptation had found him. By 12, he was stealing liquor and chasing a life that led him straight into addiction, violence, and pain.

Fast forward an 11x felon and 2½ years behind bars Will hit rock bottom and looked up. Locked in a cell, he prayed every day for YHWH to take the taste of drugs, alcohol, and destruction out of his mouth. He asked for one thing: a second chance.

And YHWH delivered.

Now sober, free, and walking with faith, Will B’s  music he’s testifys through pain, turning scars into stories and stories into songs. Every bar hits and carries truth, testimony, and hope for anyone fighting their demons.

From addict to artist, from prison to purpose, Will B is living proof that grace still works. His mission?
