Funk, Jazz, House, R&B are all influences in the EP we present you with today. Enter Juravlove; a producer, DJ and radio host based out of St. Petersburg, Russia who has been a central figure in the city's thriving underground scene. A key member of the Polyritm collective and regular on Test FM radio, Juravlove (real name Igor Zhuravlev) epitomises the sound associated with Russia at the moment - groovin, jazzy, soulful house. His latest musical offering is a six-tracker, 'Pepa EP', coming out via Délicieuse Musique's excellent sub-label Noire & Blanche, home to artists such as Folamour, Loure, Leon Revol and A Vision of Panorama. Throughout these six tracks, Juravlove explores a certain mood of jazzy house - catchy synth melodies, rhythmic vocal shots and funk guitar samples all feature over constant four-to-the-floor drums. 

For our premiere today we chose to pay particular attention to the EP's title track - Pepa. It opens up the EP nicely with warm and soulful pads, reverbed vocals and playful synthlines. It's a classic deep house track, one that is sure to create an atmosphere at any club. The EP's simplicity is also it's beauty - If you're into your classic house vibes, this release is for you. All six tracks share the same level of energy - plenty of bang for your buck!

Juravlove is a young maverick. Real name Igor Zhuravlev, he is a producer, promoter, DJ and radio host based in St. Petersburg, Russia. A member of DJ crew poliritm and a host of Bad Bad Song radio show, he is very active in local, burgeoning electronic scene, playing regularly in clubs like Tancploshadka, Kuznya and others.

Juravlove really likes having fun and his music is no different. He tends to keep it simple by using keyboards, drum machines and tapes preceding his date of birth. 

Resulting sound is cheeky and effortless, inspired by all kinds of funk, R&B, house and electro. Playful synths, catchy riffs, short vocals snippets and quirky drums are combined in a way that will absorb both the dancer and the listener. He was featured in the famous NTS Radio.

Colombia’s deep house don, Felipe Gordon drops his latest release - the Superimposition EP, by way of Parisian label Noire & Blanche.

The six track EP features the impressive and introspective jazz-filled deep house that Felipe Gordon has been making himself known for. Following a string of sought after releases on well-known labels such as Shall Not Fade, Razor N Tape, Toy Tonics, and Dam Swindle’s Heist Recordings, there is no question that Felipe Gordon has been turning heads. His take on Chicago house lands him in a stylistic category with legends such as Moodymann and Theo Parrish, while confidently blazing his own musical path.

Felipe Gordon’s distinct nod to classy deep house is characterized by captivating soundscapes, smoky jazz elements, old school soulful samples, groovy basslines, synth magic and excellent use of strings.

The opening track of the EP, Mr Umbawa, is a perfect case study of Felipe’s work. A steady and commanding drum pattern set the stage from the get go, with a warm bassline, and jazzy chords. Much of the magic of Felipe Gordon’s music lies in his use of samples and prolific work on the keys, and Mr Umbawa is no different. The track sets up the Superimposition EP perfectly, with a vibe that is suitable for dancing around the house, or at the club. There is no question – the future is bright for the Bogota-based producer.

The Superimposition EP is available for purchase starting May 6th, 2022.

Felipe Gordon is a Colombian producer based in Bogota. He’s built a track record of pure house productions from the mid-2010s up until now, being Laurent Garnier-supported and releasing records with the most notorious house labels around the globe (Royal Oak, Razor-N-Tape, Toy Tonics, Local Talk, Shall Not Fade, etc.)
His unique sonic touch, intertwining elements of raw analogue sounds from his synth collection and a strong hip-hop sampling background are allowing him to explore and revisit his influences to craft a solid musical signature.
He delivers his new EP “Superimposition”, released on French label Noire & Blanche in May 2022. An eclectic collection of solid deep house club burners (Ventana Al Tiempo, Inherently Deep), acid breakbeats (Superimposition) and soft afterhours hip- hop downer (Feeling All Over It). A record to keep in the bag to play it out loud in the club, but also to play at home when the sun settles off on long summer evenings.
