Meteoroids may be small bits of rock or dust that have little effect other than a fine display...but larger incoming rocks have been known to cause catastrophic effects (mass extinction for instance).
When the term 'meteoric rise' is applied to any of our 'dear leaders', doesn't it beg the question...how much damage can they cause on their way down???

Missing those early summer sounds as birds established their territories and relationships with a chorus of chattering, piping, trilling and cawing. What a racket...but a beautiful one! 
The memory drifts away although the birds are as busy as ever.....
