District # 014 - Soiree Records International Label Showcase feat. Drivetrain

This past Saturday (September 14th), we had the pleasure of witnessing a vinyl-only set by the talented Saumet at KLUBTAG, held at the renowned Astral Junction in Berlin.

Berlin-based multidisciplinary artist Saumet has garnered attention for his releases, including the acclaimed album "Thema," which has caught the ear of various electronic music media outlets.

As both a DJ and live performer, Saumet has graced stages in cities worldwide, from Berlin to Buenos Aires. To delve deeper into his latest DJ and live sets, be sure to check out his "Ritualism" podcast, exclusively available on Di.fm's techno channel.

On the other hand, Aiku's latest 12" release on the outstanding label "Multi Culti" has garnered support from Roman Flügel and others, who have played and charted it. As DJs, they create a captivating atmosphere, building tension with carefully selected records and stomping beats.

District is an artist collective founded in 2022 in Germany. But it`s more than that: it’s a living, breathing ecosystem for electronic music. It`s a space where music and culture intertwine. It’s a hub for creators, dreamers, and innovators united by a shared passion for the authemtic and serious parts of Techno, House, Electro, and Acid.

Jayrobs Reise durch Klangwelten

Schon im zarten Alter von sechs Jahren begann Jayrobs musikalische Odyssee – nicht in staubigen Klassenzimmern, sondern im Proberaum des Knabenchors Erfurt. Dort erkannte er erstmals, dass das Leben weit mehr zu bieten hat als Zahlen und Buchstaben – es sind die Noten, diese geheimnisvollen Zeichen, die Emotionen malen, Geschichten erzählen und Herzen bewegen. Von diesem Moment an wurden sie zu seinen treuen Weggefährten.

Nach den ersten Schritten in die Welt des Gesangs öffneten sich weitere Türen: Das Akkordeon-Orchester ließ seine Finger tanzen, das Keyboard folgte seinem Bauchgefühl, und die Schulband gab ihm als Schlagzeuger den ersten echten Bühnenboden unter den Füßen. Doch der wahre Funke sprang 1999 über – entfacht von der Magie nächtlicher Partys und dem hypnotischen Kreisen schwarzer Vinylscheiben. Das Auflegen wurde zu seiner neuen Sprache.

Was mit kleinen Privat-Sessions begann, entwickelte sich bald zu regelmäßigen Gigs in Thüringen und Hessen – von Meiningen bis Bad Salzungen, von Fulda bis zum Freien Radio Kassel. Hier durfte Jayrob seine Liebe zur elektronischen Musik teilen, roh, pur und echt – direkt von der Rille ins Herz des Publikums.

Der Waldschall in Breitungen wurde zu seinem musikalischen Zuhause, Jahr für Jahr. Auch andere Open Airs – Tunnel-Events in Mittelstille, Himmelfahrts-Festivals auf der ehrwürdigen Krayenburg, Veranstaltungen in Meiningen, Kühndorf und Umgebung – wurden Stationen seiner stetig wachsenden Klangreise. Clubs in Thüringen, Hessen und Baden-Württemberg öffneten ihm ihre Tore, und Jayrob brachte seine ganz eigene Interpretation elektronischer Musik auf die Tanzflächen – stets im Austausch mit einem Publikum, das ihm Energie gab und ihn zugleich trug.

Dann – eine Pause. Eine Pause aus Liebe, aus Verantwortung: das Abenteuer Vater sein begann 2013 und stellte die Beats für eine Weile leise. Doch die Musik blieb – als leiser Puls, als stetes Rufen. Und seit rund eineinhalb Jahren ist Jayrob wieder da – lauter, facettenreicher, freier denn je. Ob mit Vinyl oder digital, ob Deep House, Techno oder experimenteller Sound – sein Spektrum ist breiter geworden, sein Feuer heller.

Mit seiner eigenen Streaming-Sendung, dem Broiler-Room, sowie Gastauftritten bei Radiosendern und Events rund um und in Schmalkalden hat sich aus der wieder entfachten Glut ein Sturm entwickelt. Einer, dem er sich weder entziehen kann, noch entziehen will. Denn das Leben ist zu kurz, um es nur mit Zahlen und Buchstaben zu füllen – Musik ist sein Weg, sein Ausdruck, seine Sprache.

Und dieser Weg ist noch lange nicht zu Ende.

ZOESS is a Sicilian DJ and producer currently based in Rome. She began her journey in 2021, performing at renowned festivals such as Mish Mash, Hoguera Festival, and Volcanic Festival, while collaborating with collectives and organizations like Resolution, Coconut, Senza ID, and Purgatory (Romantike). At the same time, she cultivated a vision of free-spirited events, hosting gatherings in her mountain home and fostering a vibrant community in her hometown, bringing together enthusiasts of rap, trap, and electronic music (techno, deep techno, hard groove, hard techno).

Her musical career started with hip-hop production under the independent label 3TP, before branching out into her own project, ZOESS, through which she brought her unique techno sound to a variety of stages. Her debut EP, VIVA, showcases four tracks of peaktime and driving techno, delivering high-energy and powerful grooves.

Currently, her style leans towards a hypnotic and dynamic sound, deeply influenced by raw techno. Recently relocated to Rome, she is now part of the "Exaequa" project in collaboration with Rough Radio and Spring Attitude, joining forces with Italian and French artists to push the boundaries of the electronic music scene.

Drumpoet Community, independent music since 2006, runned by Alex Dallas + Ron Shiller in Zurich. Artists: John Daly, Quarion, Washerman, Soultourist, The Lost Men, Cavalier, Jayson Brothers, Headless Ghost, All Is Well, Foster and AFMB to name just a few.
