This started as a random beat where I wanted to try using a sample for the first time. I then wanted to make it "more anime," so I put in an audio clip of Hot-Pants, since I had just finished reading the manga volume where she shows up for the fist time. Then I realized that I could make a whole beat centered around her character/ the race.
