UWM Professor Portia Cobb's Radical Cinema course focuses on Independent and Global Cinema movements & Directors. The course aims to investigate what makes this cinema "radical." Students will critically review highlights of two selected Landmark Brazilian films screened this semester and their directors in a scripted discussion/radio play format. They will cover two significant Radical Classics: Quilombo (1964 )by Director Carlos Diegues and Pixote (1980) by Director Hector Babenco.
