PIFF Records welcomes Venice-based producers Nicola Brusegan and Steve Hammer to the label on their latest release, Different Gear EP.
Both producers have a rich history of collaborations, sharing releases on a multitude of labels in recent years. Despite not sharing production duties on any individual track on this release, their musical styles seamlessly blend together to construct a rich sonic tapestry traversing vibrant deep house and soulful dub techno.
The first four tracks on the EP will be available on both vinyl and in digital formats. Steve Hammer offers a simple-yet-raw bassline paired with crisp 808 percussion and dreamlike pads on Black Jack, in contrast with the more upbeat and playful Sadiq. Magic Colour, courtesy of Nicola Brusegan, revolves around a thunderous pumping bassline and stripped-back drums, whilst The River is centred around dubbed-out chords which keep pushing the track forwards.
A plethora of 90s-infused soundscapes continue throughout the final five tracks of the release, available exclusively in digital formats. Highlights include the lively serotonin-drenched melody of We Can Do It, and the glitchy arpeggio of Place 4 (both provided by Steve Hammer), alongside Nicola Brusegan airy pads and hypnotic bassline on XX33 and the Chicago-style vocal sample of Naked.
Rounding off the release with Look Inside Me, Nicola Brusegan applies melodic pads and shuffling drums to create a hazy track available for free download for buyers of the digital EP.
Over the course of 9 tracks, the pair of Venetian producers express the soulful grooves of 90s house through refreshingly modern production standards.

Kenan Savrun is a Turkish DJ and producer who has been immersed in music for many years and has made a name for himself internationally within the Progressive House scene. Based in the United States, Savrun has secured a strong position on the global electronic music stage, earning recognition for his production discipline and distinctive musical identity.

Working from the U.S., Kenan Savrun builds a musical bridge between East and West, continuing to reinterpret the deep, atmospheric, and melodic structures of Progressive House through a modern vision. Standing out with both his original productions and remix projects, he maintains a consistent presence on the Beatport charts. His Savrun Brothers project with his brother, Mahmuthan Savrun, represents another side of this creativity bringing the same musical approach to both stage and studio with a different energy.

Kenan Savrun’s production quality has also been supported by Global Underground, one of the most prestigious brands in electronic music, further strengthening his international visibility through releases on this platform. (NORTH AMERICAS BIGGEST NIGHTCLUB IN THE GOLDEN YEARS OF EDM 1998-2008) I was lucky enough to see & work with every known DJ you can think of including Tiesto, SeamAn ,DeEp Dish, Armin,  an so many more. Along with our LEGENDARY RESIDENTS mARK oLIVER, mANZONE & Strong, aDDY as some of my biggest influences I play every kind of Genre and call it G.J. EDM or Genre Jumpin . PLEASE CHECK OUT MY Hierarchy Of House Classic House/Progressive/EDM series which ended up being the soundtrack of my time in the Incredible Toronto  Music/Club/Party Scene from 1995-2010.  Mixed live No headphones, no practice, no cue points, just a few chosen songs & some  random and then mixed in any order with a lot of loops, samples and always started with my now famous intro's (those with a keen ear will probably pick up I stuck to keeping everything as harmonically in key as possible). There is rarely a moment that a single track is playing mostly 3-4 lol. No post editing or fixing, this is the mix as it came out all one take start to finish, so this means mistakes intact.
