Dendrophile - Terraforming The Subconscious

The highlight of my 2024 festival calendar has to be Fractal Fest 2024, which is being hosted at the surreal Spitzkoppe in Namibia. It's easily the biggest psytrance lineup Southern Africa has ever seen and includes some of my absolute favourite artists. In honour of them, I decided to throw together a mix showcasing some of the artists that'll be performing. 

If you're on the fence, hopefully this mix encourages you to venture into the desert!

Dendrophile is the brainchild of 2 members of the uk psychedelic trance scene Matthew Kyriakides aka Mutaliens and Contineum and Markus Shipman aka one half of Multiseed and Kanaloa music project. With over 30 plus years of experience between them they joined forces and musical experience to produce a new project called Dendrophile which is aimed at a hybrid mix of night and forest styles with a blend of organic and mechanical futuristic influences of psytrance with a hint of progressive forest thrown into the melting pot. 

With their first debut EP close to completion and ready to launch on Digital Shaman Records and some V/A tracks in the works, get ready to embark on a journey with dendrophile through the mystical forests and marshes of the United Kingdom wonderlands.

A ferociously silly creature emerges from the uncut grass, pointed snout canvassing the dancefloor to find the sweet-spot of intersecting frequencies. He straddles the fence between forest and nightpsy, outputting groovy, introspective basslines that ride the crest of intoxicating leads and gurgling synths. After 12 years of declaring "I have that song", he's finally ready to blindly lead hippies into the unknown.
