In what may be the weirdest thing I've attempted, here is DixieFlatline's "A Lie and a Stuffed Animal" (嘘とぬいぐるみ) featuring the VOCALOID MAYU, arranged for two alto saxophone leads with saxophone ensemble (sopanino, soprano, tenor, baritone, bass), bass guitar, and harpsichord accompaniment. The baritone and bass saxophone parts were recorded by pitching a tenor saxophone down. The harpsichord part was programmed in GarageBand with with a clavichord patch, while the bass guitar was added to bolster the low end.

I quickly made a transcription back in summer of 2020 as another nod to the VOCALOID days of my past. This is a proof of concept of the arrangement made back in November 2022, which was later revised with a different instrumentation

Played around with this idea because the name sounded funny and got some help from my dude @lovelettersfromamsterdam to make it sound decent. This track was played live at the very end of an Anison Hijack event at Wonderville during the weekend of Anime NYC 2024.

This is a Christmas release but it will remain publicly available.
