We are happy to welcome @steffisound for the next part of our spotlight series! Steffi's musical preferences as a DJ are characterized by his love for deep, emotional, and particularly melancholic music, as well as hypnotic, driving, and dramatic powerful music. Since the beginning of his career, he has aimed to combine these characteristics into a recognizable style, which sometimes makes him a secret weapon, especially for morning hours, afterhours, or closing sets in clubs or at festivals.

MINI-INTERVIEW

What was the intention behind your set?
In podcasts or live DJ sets, I always try to express my current mood and incorporate all the musical influences that inspire me. It's less about the mixing technique and more about the atmosphere and the storytelling and especially the closing of the set. I try to keep it deep and combine hypnotic/trippy with emotional sounds. In this set are some tracks I played at Zugvøgel Festival this summer, where I've been a resident for a few years now. I got this as a little present for everyone who was sad that I haven't uploaded the live recording yet.

What was your most significant club / festival moment?
In 2019 I played the closing set on Zamonien Floor at Zugvøgel Festival and at the end of the set I could hear and see people in front of the stage completely falling apart with their emotions. Between laughing and crying with joy. The Dj Booth was full of my dearest friends and I can't remember a moment where I didn't have goosebumps. Light, decoration, people. Everything was just right

Favorite release at the moment & of all times?
Even though it was released a while ago, I discovered the track Beatamines & Stephan Zovsky – The Island (Dole&Kom Remix) this year. I really love this organic and driving sound of the track! 
All Time Fav is hard!
Melancholic sound influences me a lot and if it's danceable to it, then it's perfect for me. I have played the track in a lot of closing tracks and therefore I would choose Skena – Too Late (Original Mix).

This mix is all about house and nothing but the house!!

A full on medley of thumpers thrown out during the recent Gunpower Plot Throwdown held at the brilliant Black Wolf Fitness, Knaresborough.

A 60 minute dance along. This mix should have you covered no matter your taste. We have some cheeky reworks from well known chart hits such as Xpresso and Hella Good, right through to 90's classic house feels with Set Me Free & Summer 91.
In the middle we have tribal and beleric feels leading into tech stompers from Marten Horger & Roland Clarke.

This event was a party from start to finish and this mix is a collection of highs from the day!!

Doing this collectively, synchronously moving to the same rhythm and sharing this special experience, we feel a connection that resonates within.

With DIT KLINGT JUT we want to express our love for music and manifest the meaning it can have for all of us. We do this by providing a thoughtfully curated space for artists and labels to share their music, organizing events & live-streams and serving as a platform to share ideas on music and the creative process.

Sicherlich steht der Rap deutlich im Vordergrund und letztendlich gehört er ja auch unumstößlich zur ‘Berlin Hip Hop Culture’! Aber wir wären nicht ‘Berlin Limited’, wenn uns nicht auch andere Musik Genres geprägt hätten. Def Beat Radio bietet: Rap, Funk, Soul, Jazz, Rock, Electrofunk, Boogie und alle erdenklichen Zwischenformen genannter Stilrichtungen......

Klaus Benedek grew up in a small town near Vienna. His interest in electronic music began during the 90s techno hype. He spent hours watching video clips on MTV and viva and thus gaining knowledge about electronic music. In 2004, he began teaching himself to produce. Gathering his inspiration wherever he could, he began collecting 12" vinyl records the same year and 2 years later got his first dj-gigs. From 2008 till 2010 he was one of the resident DJs at the MNML Thursdays in the Camera Club. In 2012 he started with Alex Kolodziej the event-series Tellerbetrieb. Currently he finds most of his inspiration in Chicago House, Deep House, Disco and Breakbeat. After releases on labels like Petrol Dollar, Subversaal, rekooda, Soul Shift Music, Clean and Dirty Recordings and tanzbar, Klaus launched his own label forTunea in 2014.
