Toward the end of 2022, the label heard rumors of a new force coming out of Detroit, Michigan, generating a fresh take on body music, fused with the city's historical DNA. Soon they found Tyler Baker aka Comfort Cure, and the collaborating took shape, culminating in this razor sharp release of four original tracks of futuristic EBM accompanied by four remixes from Semantix, Antoni Maiovvi, Broody Faye and Ye Gods.

The release tackles modern life in the City of Angels with a perfect dose of existential dread that translates perfectly for dark dance floors.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Fugitive Artifact. "Personal" comes off the album, “Deferentiator", forthcoming on the always excellent DKA. The project of Peter Roglin, aka Charolastra, the Fugitive Artifact moniker is foggy, acid laced cold wave, perfect for the live stage and dark danceflooors. Designed to be a vehicle to explore his darker, colder side, he wanted to do away with the laptop as much as possible, relying solely on drum machines and synthesizers. For Roglin, this project is about relinquishing control and embracing the ephemeral impermanence of musical ideas. The theme of relinquishing control is at the centerpiece of Deferentiator in both approach and subject matter. Today we you the sixth track, "Personal".

Velkommen tilbage til podcasten. Der findes et hav af tilstande som vi meget sjældent ser I ambulancen, men tre af dem vi ser jævnlig af de sjældne er Rabdomyolyse, Diabetisk Ketoacidose og Addisons krise. Jeg er ret sikker på, at de fleste af os faktisk ikke ved ret meget om de tilstande og slet ikke om, hvad vi kan gøre for at imødekomme patientens behov. Akutmediciner og redder Lasse Paludan, som er en gammel kending af podcasten, beriger os endnu engang med indsigt I, hvad disse tre tilstande er for nogle størrelser og hvad vi kan gøre for at lette hospitalets arbejde og patienternes symptomer. For vi står nemlig ikke helt på bar bund, selvom vi selvfølgelig, som altid, kun er I stand til at komme med et kvalificeret gæt, når vi mistænker en af de tre tilstande hos vores patienter. Rigtig god fornøjelse.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Comfort Cure. Detroit's dancefloor demolitionist is back with a brand new single and cassette release, "I'm the Drug", which comes on cassette format and also contains the new song "Lows" and a new version of "Hands of Stone" along with three remixes of "I'm the Drug" on the b-side. Compared to previous Comfort Cure releases, these new tracks focus on a more synth-pop and dance floor oriented sound. The three remixes on the B-side consist of a relentless EBM remix by NYC's Nuxx Vomica, a hard hitting club remix from Kansas City's Moon 17, and a skeletal minimal synth rework by Atlanta's Anticipation.

Nach aktuellen Schätzungen leben in Deutschland ca. 18.500 Kinder und Jugendliche im Alter von 0 bis 14 Jahren mit Typ-1-Diabetes und 37.000 erkrankte Kinder und Jugendliche in der Altersspanne von 0 bis 20 Jahren. Dies entspricht einer Verdopplung der Prävalenz binnen 20 Jahren! Typ-1-Diabetes ist damit die häufigste Stoffwechselerkrankung bei Kindern und Jugendlichen in Deutschland. 

Was sollten Kinderärztinnen und Kinderärzte über Typ-1-Diabetes wissen – über die Erkrankung selbst, aber auch über die Symptome, die zur Diagnose führen? Was ist eine diabetische Ketoazidose (DKA) und wie lässt sich die potentiell lebensgefährliche DKA verhindern? Darüber sprechen wir mit Dr. Anna Hofelich, Studienärztin am Institut für Diabetesforschung. Das Institut ist Teil des Helmholtz Diabetes Center am Helmholtz Munich. Dr. Hofelich beschäftigt sich in ihrer Arbeit vor allem mit der Früherkennung des Typ-1-Diabetes. 

Sie erklärt, was es genau mit der Früherkennung auf sich hat, welche Studien es dazu gibt, welche Kinder daran teilnehmen können und welche wichtige Rolle die Kinderärztinnen und Kinderärzte dabei spielen. Spannend ist auch die Avant1a-Studie, die gerade anläuft, und mit der untersucht wird, ob eine Impfung gegen COVID-19 im Alter von 6 Monaten die Entstehung von Inselautoantikörpern und damit Typ-1-Diabetes verhindern kann.
