In today's podcast, I chat with Andrew & Emma Groves from Misc. Adventures on choosing the road less travelled to live a life closer to nature.

They now live in the Lake District where they work in the woods, make things, take photos and enjoy adventures big and small in the surrounding mountains, lakes and valleys with their young son, Benji.

For 11 years they lived in a small barn in the woods in Sussex where they discovered a new way of living and developed a deeper relationship with Nature that inspires all of the many strands of the work they do.

Ep 78: Andrew & Emma Groves from Misc. Adventures on getting back to our roots

In today’s show, I sit down again with Dr. Anton Krige, who is a medical doctor, multiple Ironman finisher, and functional medicine specialist.

In this episode, we dive deep into what it’s like to work closely with Anton and how he transforms his patient's health and well-being. We used me as the case study in this one and it was eye-opening to get the results back from some of the tests I did (particularly finding out that my biological age is 29 which isn’t bad for a 40-something guy). And there were plenty of other fascinating insights I found out about which I’ve been able to integrate into my daily routine.

Anton treats those with complex chronic conditions as well as those who wish to optimise sports performance whilst maintaining health & wellness using his research skills and experience to incorporate cutting-edge research findings in both health and exercise physiology.

Anton was previously on the show in episode 68 in case anyone wants to hear a more wide-ranging interview on health and some of the key lifestyle factors for transforming it, the latest tech you can use to improve your health as well as what an ideal day looks like to turn around your metabolic health.

As a child growing up she always felt as if she never really fit… the proverbial square peg. Looking back, she can see now that this feeling was the origin of wanting to help others and she believes the more we can learn and understand about ourselves the more we can tap into our inner strength and happiness.

Mark Gober is the author of “An End to Upside Down Thinking”, which won the IPPY award for best science book of the year. He is also the author of “An End to Upside Down Living”, “An End to Upside Down Liberty”, “An End to Upside Down Contact”, “An End to the Upside Down Reset”, and “An End to Upside Down Medicine”; and he is the host of the podcast “Where Is My Mind?”. 

Additionally, he serves on the board of Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell’s Institute of Noetic Sciences and the School of Wholeness and Enlightenment. Previously, Gober was a partner at Sherpa Technology Group in Silicon Valley and worked as an investment banking analyst with UBS in New York. He has been named one of IAM’s Strategy 300: The World’s Leading Intellectual Property Strategists. Gober graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University, where he wrote an award-winning thesis on Daniel Kahneman’s Nobel Prize–winning “Prospect Theory” and was elected a captain of Princeton’s Division I tennis team.

Biggy J, also known as the Midwest Rider, brings a unique style to the group with his smooth flow and clever lyrics. Do Good, known for his beats, keeps the group's sound fresh and modern. Together, they pay homage to their roots while pushing the boundaries of the rap and R&B genres.
