In this upcoming issue of The Comic Section Podcast, we start by paying condolences to Doc Harris, beloved by anime fans as the narrator for the first English dub of “Dragon Ball Z”, who has passed away at the age of 76. 

We discuss the surprisingly low box office debut of “Joker: Folie à Deux”, which grossed only $37.8 million in its first weekend. There's exciting news from DC Studios as Aaron Pierre has been cast as Green Lantern John Stewart in HBO's highly-anticipated “Lanterns” series, joining Kyle Chandler's Hal Jordan. 

Sadly, Netflix's Greek mythology series “Kaos” has been canceled after its recent premiere, and Max’s adult animated series “Velma” will also not be returning for a third season. Meanwhile, Nintendo has announced a surprise piece of hardware with the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo, an interactive alarm clock set for release in early 2025.

In anime news, “Dragon Ball Daima” is heading to Netflix shortly after its Crunchyroll debut. Additionally, Henry Cavill has been tapped to star in a live-action “Voltron” movie for Amazon MGM Studios, with plot details being kept under wraps for now.

In celebration of Stranger Things Day on November 6, Netflix has shared exciting details about Stranger Things Season 5! While fans didn’t get new footage, Netflix revealed episode titles and confirmed a 2025 release date, fueling anticipation for the beloved series’ final chapter. 

Meanwhile, Toho has greenlit a new Godzilla movie from Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki, fresh off his Oscar win for VFX. The new film has fans buzzing, especially after Yamazaki's recent meeting with Marvel’s Kevin Feige, suggesting that the MCU may be drawing some inspiration from his monster masterpiece.

In other exciting horror news, David Cronenberg’s classic The Fly is getting an original follow-up film, directed by Nikyatu Jusu for 20th Century Studios and Chernin Entertainment. While not a remake, this new addition will explore new body horror in the world Cronenberg created.
