My favorite song from Dream Theater's A View from the Top of the World. I didn't try learning Jordan's keyboard parts because he's a wizard on the keys and I can never quite get it right. I am very happy with how the guitar parts came out.

The song "Infection" explores themes of manipulation, control, and societal division. It critiques how different forces—ranging from media and government to corporations and religious institutions—manipulate people through propaganda, fear, and consumerism. The recurring imagery of "dancing to the wardrum" symbolizes blind obedience to destructive powers, while the references to paranoia and triviality highlight the distractions used to divide and control society.

The lyrics also touch on a spiritual element, with angels praying in vain to a society that refuses to listen or see. Ultimately, the song portrays a world infected by corruption, submission, and division, with individuals enslaved by fear and manipulation.

Infection

Greed is a song about people who commit crimes against their own family members in order to obtain financial gain. It is also about certain billionaires who think they can do whatever they like in the world just because they are rich. These billionaires should be helping out people less fortunate than themselves in society.
