In this episode, we will talk with Milan, a farmer, and advisor for agriculture. Milan shares his experience regarding handling climate change that results in the increasing amount of pests. The most common bug in the Czech Republic is “Kůrovec” (eng. A bark beetle). Milan clarifies that the most vulnerable variety of tree for these pests is  “Picea abies” (eng. “Norway spruce”). They are logged after being infected with pests and replaced by the resistant “Douglaska” (eng. “Douglas fir tree”).
Furthermore, the farmer shares his other obstacle regarding increasing temperatures - no pasture for the sheep during summer droughts in 2015 and 2018.

Record wildfires, crazy amounts of smoke and poor air quality, droughts, and floods - municipalities are experiencing the impacts of climate change in a big way. Cutting emissions is very important to prevent even worse impacts, but what is a small town or municipality to do to adapt to and avoid some of the bigger impacts of climate change?  The Municipal Climate Change Action Centre in Alberta knows this so they created a program that has helped fund 26 communities to assess their climate risks and create climate adaptation plans. We head to Pincher Creek, Alberta to see how they are dealing with wildfires, drought and ironically floods as well.

Dudley Anderson was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. After graduating from Bible College in 1990, God opened the way for Dudley to branch out into Christian radio. As a musician and worship leader he developed a heart for Christian music, which became the main thrust of his radio work in South Africa.
