I’m torn but I don’t care.

Warm drinks, soft laughs, distant singing,
But my pulse is club-side ringing,
Frozen breath and neon haze,
Christmas in a louder phase.

Crystal dawn at Christmas night,
Club heat rising, colors bite,
Party warmth or strobe-light fire,
Choose the glow you most desire.

Outside carols melt in airwaves,
Inside bodies move like shockwaves,
Holiday nostalgia hums,
But my pulse hits like the drums.
Cinnamon and kitchen laughter,
But I’m chasing the beat after,
Two paths carved in frozen sky,
Tell me which one feels alive.

But the rhythm drags me its way,
Silent night or shattered bass,

As an experiment to force writers/musical block, I gave myself a challenge that for 5 days in a row, I would sit down with my guitar and laptop, set a timer for 20 minutes and write something, including come up with the musical ideas. Most of this is one-take, and improvised. I was allowed to use my drum machine and guitar with digital effects. I aimed to do this for 10 days, but sometimes things just don't pan out. 

These were recorded from November 15-19, 2024. 

 The final track was an assignment I had to do for my clinical improv class for my Master's program. Featuring Chris on the glockenspiel. I felt it was fitting to include as the grand finale. 

Also I forgot to make a collage for the cover art so I drew a guitar from memory on the back of a value village receipt in Biblioteque Maissoneuve.

Quando il cielo si rompeva in sfumature grigie e azzurre.  Avvolto in strati spessi,  il viaggiatore percepì la risonanza.  Mentre l'aria fuori bruciava i polmoni, il pensiero si faceva spazio, cercando riparo nel calore secco dei vagoni e dei ricordi.
Il destino era un fischio lontano, un ritmo costante sulle ruote d'acciaio. Si muovevano insieme verso il sole basso e sfuggente. Un movimento che curava il freddo..
