Our guest today is Sandra Richardson. Sandra was the victim of the NY SAFE Act and a false report concerning her mental health. 
Sandra is a gun owner, was the subject of a false NY SAFE Act report. Thankfully, the court determined the report against her was "arbitrary, capricious or an abuse of discretion" and her rights were restored.  
After that ordeal, she brought together data that clearly shows that the NY SAFE Act has created a very large barrier to mental health care and is ineffective in capturing its target population.
1) The New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013 proposes to help keep guns out of the hands of people with mental health issues. But, like so many “well-meaning” laws the NY SAFE Act ensnares people like you who are simply seeking help with normal stress. 
2) After regaining your Second Amendment rights, you wanted to understand more about NY SAFE Act reporting and its impact on the public.  How did you approach this and what did you find?  
3) What do you hope will come from sharing your story and your research efforts?  
Raise awareness of the multiple Constitutional violations (2A, 1A, 4A, 6A, 14A) of NY SAFE Act reporting, and awareness of the fact that this kind of egregious reporting system does not protect people, but instead undermines public health by preventing people from seeking care. Hope that others will use this information to help remove both barriers to care and stigma around guns and mental health.

At long last, SCOTUS has published their decision in U.S. v. Rahimi. The case arose from a conviction of a Texas man named Zackey Rahimi, who was found guilty of violating a federal law. Specifically, Rahimi violated 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(8), which prohibits the possession of firearms by anyone who is the subject of a domestic violence restraining order. Interestingly, the restraining orders are issued by state courts, while the law in question is federal. Additionally, each state has analogous laws making it a crime for someone to possess firearms while being the subject of a restraining order. Rahimi challenged the federal law as unconstitutional on its face due to conflicting with the Second Amendment as interpreted in NYSRPA v. Bruen (2022). In Bruen, the SCOTUS held that a restriction of any firearms right (anything that conflicts with the clear text of the 2nd Amendment) could only be constitutional if the same law or policy existed at the time the Amendment was ratified in 1791. For this case, the SCOTUS would have to determine whether restraining order gun prohibitions existed in 1791, unless they wanted to scrap the Bruen test and create another standard.

But the White House actually added the characters "MS13" (name of the notorious Salvadoran gang) to the shot of Abrego Garcia's knuckles in a crude photoshop job—despite transparent denials from Trump. Lubricating the emerging transnational mass detention program with this Orwellian post-truth stratagem, the Trump regime meanwhile moves toward actual deportation of US citizens. And adding to the Orwellian nature of the Trump-Bukele axis, the US Justice Department has dropped charges against MS-13 leaders who collaborated in the consolidation of the new Salvadoran dictatorship.
