Rasit ją ten, kur laivai klajoja,

Išplaukėm naktį per rūką žalią,

„Ką darai, dievų vaike?“ –
Šnypštė ji, kol blanko jėga;

Roksana pavirto akmenine statula!

Flintas klupi – delnai kruvini,
„Pabudinsiu akmenį, tikėk manimi!“

To be counted among us, you must seek three truths.
Bring back what moves yet stays, what weighs yet shrinks, what holds yet fades.

[Flint]
A solid that flows… a burden that grows small… a vessel for the unseen.
I swear by fire and anvil, I shall return with all three.

Hammer and shield, both call my hand,
Shape of the world at my command;
I fight as I forge — to make, not to break,
A promise born in every ache.

Keep pace, Heaven-born, if you can stand,
War’s not a forge but shifting sand;
I swing for blood, not beauty’s sake,
Your ideals melt before they take.

Yet every strike defines its place,
Even fury needs a face;
I’ll bear your fire, lion-kind,
Till strength and craft are intertwined.

Hammered decks and hearts of oak,
Sparks still fly when steel is soaked;
I’ll mend the hull, I’ll fight the gale,
A smith turned soldier trims the sail.

Brave you stand, but storms don’t yield,
Pride alone can’t steer the keel;
Work the ropes, and mind my words,
I rule the wind, you wash my boards.

Raise the mast, the storm is kind,
Salt and flame and iron combined;
One Musky Tear cuts through the spray,
The Emerald Sea will know our way.

Dive beneath where shadows bite,
Fists for hammers, dark for light;
Crab and shark and twisted claw,
I’ll forge my path through ocean’s maw.

Foolish spark, the deep deceives,
Trust no song the current weaves;
Yet courage stirs my sailor’s soul,
Strike true below, and claim the goal.

🎭 The last time I did any singing in character for a musical, was for one of my roles in ‘Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story’ at The Strand (now  re-named The Novello) Theatre in London’s west end. There, for around 8 shows a week for 6 years I performed a comedic version of The Star Spangled Banner to an audience that often included aghast Americans! (I’m SORRRRY!). Switching from full-time stage acting to voice acting after leaving UK has been great for a tonne of reasons, but the magick of theatre and the energy of a live audience is pretty tough to beat!  

So, when I logged into a message asking if I was available and interested in voicing a CHARACTER PART in a MUSICAL TRACK… the opening number for a concept musical album… I was EXCITED! … When I learned the character was a wily Celtic crone with dubious intentions (a Scottish accent being the favoured option and maybe could I try to get a cackle in too…?)… and the musical a dark gothic horror based on the D&G game classic ‘Curse of Strahd’ … I WAS IN!!! 🤩🤩🤩

I LOVE working with multi-talented people and Liam Handley is actually phenomenal. Both his book and music are superb! Plus… ('though he’s too humble to admit this) he’s a brilliant musical actor whose voice and delivery captivates as the hero - Ismark Kolyanovich.
