For ec2a’s Digital Only Series, Benwal delivers dirty Dutch speed garage that bares its teeth while nursing bruised emotions underneath. “U Need” cuts deep with a vocal that is rife with confusion and heartache, its bassline ripping through and tearing up the floor like it’s trying to make sense of it all. “Back To The Old School” brings conga-lined speedy G that rolls like a vintage Bush Records tune. The bass is molten and malicious, but Benwal pulls an unexpected turn when he welcomes a transfixing church organ in the midsection. Just as you lock into a trance, house horns dish out a Sweet Chin Music to snap you back into the drop.

Sydney sound warrior Cotto returns to the Digital-Only Series wielding two heaters akimbo, Jason Bourne-style. “Been A Long Time” has a blistering 0-60 time, dropping straight into a thunderstorm of a bassline angled for peak time with anguished diva shouts and impassioned calls to the DJ. The agile organ-laced speedy g of “Wasted (30,000ft Mix)” puts your head above the clouds, before switching the vibe with stabbed organ crushes, synth squelches and sly house keys.

For ec2a’s Digital-Only Series, Bristol’s bass buccaneers Dual Monitor continue their run of tech-dembow monsters that have the chilling atmosphere and venomous mechanics of a sci-fi horror flick. The sounds on “Rise Up” are techy, gelatinous and they deploy circular hits of atmosphere as coldly as Darth Vader’s breath. But when it wheelspins from a breaks intro to their signature bounce, it’s all systems go. You’ll latch onto the tune of clanging metal from the moment it reaches your ear, right through to the track’s airtight final drop, which squeezes wiping bass into the mix. Wear a gas mask to the dance, but you’ll still succumb to their dark, contagious swing.
