Born in 1994 on the South Side of Chicago, J-Lektro is the grandson of Willie Mabon, the first artist to have a hit record on the legendary Chess Records, a legendary Chicago label that worked with iconic blues artists like Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Koko Taylor, as well as early rock and roll pioneers such as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, and the influential Etta James.
