The Bergquam’s started their training for ministry in San Diego. They began full-time ministry with an evangelistic tour throughout the USA and Canada, encouraging believers in the local church for outreach. This was followed by 3 years of evangelistic tours to 13 countries throughout Europe, serving with Victory Outreach Ministries based in Amsterdam, Holland. In 1990, Kurt and Valerie followed God’s call into pastoral ministry with a church plant to the city of Lelystad, in the Netherlands. Completing 7 fruitful years on the mission field for the Kingdom, they returned home to continue pastoral work in different regions of the USA. Since 2011, Kurt & Valerie are super blessed to be serving Jesus with Harvest Time Church in their hometown of San Diego, coming full circle from their ministry beginnings!

Pastor Kurt enjoys working with Marketplace Chaplains, sharing Christ’s message of hope with corporate business leaders in San Diego. He also serves as Chaplain with Teen Challenge USA many years working with those suffering from drug and alcohol dependency. Both Kurt and Valerie are ordained ministers with the SoCal Network Assemblies of God. Kurt received his B.A. degree and master’s in Theology. Valerie has a bachelor’s degree in Theology, and is currently studying in the master’s program for an M.Th. with Christian Bible College and Seminary in Blue Springs, MO. She is passionate for mental, physical, spiritual health and well-being for every individual; certified with the Cleveland Clinic , previously coaching women throughout Riverside and San Diego counties as a Fitness & Dietary Counselor. Kurt enjoys skiing and water sports, including surfing and their family loves hiking together in the great San Diego mountains.  They have two adult children.
