Derek M. Jenkins (b. 1986, Frankfurt am Main, Germany) is an American composer and educator.

His music has been performed throughout the U.S., Europe, and Canada. In 2022, Jenkins won first prize in the Dresdner Bläserphilharmonie's Winds Composition Contest Saxony I Edition  with his composition, "We Seven", and his piece "Rock Bottom" won first place in the 3rd Annual International WASBE Composition Contest. "We Seven" also won the 2016 American Prize in Composition and in 2012, his piece, "Eosphorus: The Morning Star," was selected as a winner of the National Band Association's Young Composer Mentor Project. Jenkins has received recognition from MMTA/MTNA, MACRO, UMKC, ASCAP, the Harry S. Truman Good Neighbor Award Foundation, and at conferences and festivals across the U.S. and abroad.

Jenkins serves as Associate Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Missouri Western State University, having previously held a similar position at Arkansas State University. He holds degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (DMA Composition, MM Musicology, 2017; BM Composition, BM Theory, 2010) and Rice University (MM Composition, 2013). Additionally, he received further instruction at the Kärntner Landeskonservatorium and the Alpen-Adria Universität Klagenfurt.

Jenkins is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society; the National Band Association; the College Music Society; Society for American Music; Society of Composers, Inc.; and ASCAP. His music is available through BrookWright Music, Murphy Music Press, Veritas Musica Publishing and under his own imprint, Mühltal Musikpresse.

Violinist and producer Alex Stolze has earned a strong reputation for his unique music. He switches seamlessly between modern classical instrumentation and sensitive electronica and manages to create a previously unseen sound based on his 5-string violin. Middle Eastern scales create a beguiling soundscape, complex polyrhythms and unusual time signatures become addictive, danceable grooves and rousing songs. Alex Stolze's work with the electronic trio Bodi Bill, the avant-garde band Dictaphone and his work as founder and head of Nonostar Records, on which Anne Müller, Ben Osborn, Qrauer and Field Kit have also already released, also repeatedly attracts international attention. In autumn 2024, his third studio album רעש ו רוח “Raash ve Ruach” will be released on the Neue Meister label.
