True North EOYC Mix 2020

German DJ & Producer Frank Dueffel  got in touch with electronic sounds at a young age, these kind of sounds always got under his skin and it wasn’t long until that passion inspired him to become a DJ in year of 1999.
Since then he played several gigs alongside well known DJs like Heatbeat, Maarten de Jong, Madwave, Dennis Sheperd, tyDi, Ron van den Beuken and Lissat & Voltaxx on events like Street Parade & Nature One. His DJ sets take you on a journey featuring a wide spectrum of electronic dance music, a unique mixture of trance, progressive, breaks and techno, always energetically driven and touching the underground sound.
In 2009 he released his first singles & remixes and since then he’s been improving his productions skills and increasing his reputation as producer, having already signed his work to labels such as Paul Van Dyk’s Vandit Records, Outburst Records, Discover Rec., Komplex Sounds (KSX), Phoenix Records and High Contrast Recordings including collaborations with Binary Finary, Madwave, Curtis Young and TEKNO and remixes for artists like Binary Finary, Jordan Suckley, Madwave, Damian Wasse and Sergey Nevone.
Over the years his productions appeared in several Compilations like Goodgreef Future Trance, Tunnel Trance Force, High Contrast Recordings presents Dennis Sheperd and several Street Parade Compilations and also earned support from international superstar artists like Paul Van Dyk, Mark Sherry, Armin van Buuren, Eddie Halliwell, Judge Jules, Paul Oakenfold, Jordan Suckley, Alex M.O.R.P.H. among many others.
He certainly won’t be stopping anytime soon and with the love and dedication he has towards musical production and dj’ing, as well as several new projects lined up for the following times, you can certainly expect great things from Frank Dueffel.

Mr. Trancetive stands for a dedicated and loyal passion for all kinds of Trance music and the wonderful feeling it evokes. Making mashups and edits is his core business and his sets are packed with creative and surprising blends.

Mr. Trancetive (pronounce like 'transitive') alias Sjoerd Hoevens was born in 1987 in Haarlem, The Netherlands. From a young age he enjoyed music, especially when listening to the radio. Every Friday afternoon he rushed home from school to tune into the Top 40 to hear the greatest hits of the moment. He became a loyal customer at the local music stores and his CD-collection grew fast. He was often asked to play records at school parties and organized some of them at his parents’ home, which he really loved doing. As he had no DJ-gear but only two stereo sets, his mixing technique was a bit unconventional, blending tracks with the volume buttons and harmonic-mixing them by ear. It helped him develop a sensitive feel for smooth and harmonic transitions. Though he loves all kinds of music, his interest then already went out to Dance music. This was the late 90's/early 00’s, with great artists like ATB, Mauro Picotto, Faithless, 4 Strings, Scooter, Sash!, DJ Tiësto, Milk Inc. and Paul van Dyk.

When he heard John O’Callaghan’s tune Big Sky back in 2007, his love for Trance music skyrocketed and has never left. From that moment he tuned in to Armin van Buuren’s radioshow A State of Trance every single week. After visiting Trance Energy and Armin Only Imagine in 2008, Sjoerd decided to use his passion for Trance as a basis for his own creative interpretation of the genre. He bought his first DJ-gear and started mixing. In 2014 he posted his first mixtape on SoundCloud and in 2015 he started the production of mashups and edits. Since then his mashups got supported by Trance artists like Jorn van Deynhoven, Artento Divini, David Broaders, Johnny L, Tomac, Lazarus and many more. His inspiration comes from artists like Armin van Buuren, Andy Tau, Solid Stone, Rodg, Farius, Gareth Emery, Ben Gold, Ashley Wallbridge, Sean Mathews, Omnia and many more.

Today he’s more productive and passionate than ever before and determined to share his love for Trance music with the world. Besides his solo project Sjoerd is also one of the hosts of the Dutch radioshow @Time4Trance, on Afterhours.FM alongside his UK based friend @rafa-arendz and one half of the dynamic trance duo @CurrentWavesofficial. For this unique collaboration he teams up with his good friend @sverrezielmanofficial.

Born and raised in The Netherlands, Drumm's passion for trance music arose when he listened for the first time to the magical sounds of Tiësto back in the days. Not only Tiësto, but Rank 1, Svenson & Gielen, Cosmic Gate and Armin van Buuren also caused his outrageous passion for trance music. Since then, he is grabbed by the melodic sounds, energy and higher spiritual significance of music. During a difficult period in his life, trance even served as a healing therapy and helped him to find a deeper spiritual meaning in life. 

Since a few years, Drumm has transferred his passion for music to the decks. Through his energetic, enthusiastic and sensitive way of spinning the wheels of steal he can show his personality and inner love to the world. His sets are characterised by combining melodic and vocals sounds which breath passion from the depth of his heart. 

To give this passion even more shape he will embark on producing his own tracks. Whatever the future will bring, he will always keep on showing his passion for music to the world. So make sure to keep an eye out for Drumm.

I’m a music enthusiast. 

Music is the thing that will one day save us all, which is one of many reasons why I consider it to be important. 

Like most music enthusiasts, I used to hog people’s stereos and make them listen to what I wanted. Because of this, turning my hand to DJing in 1999 was, in retrospect, inevitable.

I started DJing on internet radio in March 2004 and on average, have put a new show online every six days or so since then. I haven’t counted exactly but I think it’s around a thousand by now.

I hate genre definitions (and go into a lot of detail on that here: https://lazarustrance.wordpress.com/2012/08/02/fifty-shades-of-blue-why-genre-does-not-matter/) but it’s fair to say that for the most part I play what’s called “trance.”

I have no interest in fame although I did once make it to 1222 in the DJ Mag chart. This is why I don’t have a logo or any kind of social media strategy.

Nowadays I have three ongoing shows:
     The Rebirth Session - These don’t broadcast anywhere but are (with occasional exceptions) my official demo mixes.
     Back From The Dead - This goes out monthly on Afterhours FM (every first Monday) and is a full-on uplifting/banging show.
     Rise Above - This goes out weekly on Discover Trance Radio (every Friday) and is the end result of me enjoying a mix at home over the previous weekend, whatever that may have turned out to be.

This story didn't start 2000 years ago, but in 2017 as a moniker of Chris Blackburn on the beloved Groove Cruise - the largest and most spectacular festival to hit the Seven Seas. His love of Trance music along with his seeming likeness of Jesus Christ has brought love and admonition.
From the multiple appearances on the biggest festival on the Seven Seas, Groove Cruise, his home in Minneapolis, he’s been seen in the crowds at the biggest Trance event in North America - Insomniac's Dreamstate - as well as in clubs from Coast 2 Coast playing in Florida to California. His joy is connecting with people in the Trance family and bringing excitement for the genre.
During the COVID lockdown, he continued to share the good news of Trance across the internet on Twitch with the Church of Trance, celebrating the 100th stream and over 400 hours on 7/14/21. With Trance being a passion for over 25+ years, 20+ of those years club going, it has translated to 6+ years both on the lineup alongside some of Trance biggest names has grown to work behind the scenes to produce events and manage artists at Coast 2 Coast Music.
Nonetheless, when the heavenly job in Trance doesn’t keep him busy, he spends his days in his earthly job as an IT consultant as well as the father of 3 boys and married to the love of his life for over 21 years.

Han Beukers was born in Rotterdam in 1966 and since an early age, he listened to the soul show and mixes of Ben Liebrand on the radio. Thus the dream of becoming a dj began to develop at an early age. In the 1980’s he spent many hours listening and buying the latest new import records at Hotsound in Rotterdam. This is also where he witnessed the birth of the house and later the trance music. During that time they regularly played at school parties under the artist name of “Studio1999”. His sales and marketing career in Telecom & ICT brought him a different path during that time.

His passion for the Uplifting Trance music was born when Ferry Corsten played the track Out of the Blue (Violin edit) at Trance Energy. Throughout the years and thanks to the many (Dance & Trance) festivals, the dj booth continued to attract. In the summer of 2015 he refuled his old hobby and dream by buying a Numark DJ set. The mixes he made as a bedroom dj were picked up by RTV Krimpenerwaard and in February of 2016 he launched a weekly radio show called Time4Trance. The fan base of this live radio show is steadily growing thanks to the support and live guestmixes by dj-producers such as; ReOrder, Björn Akesson, Ram, Misja Helsloot, Radion6, Allen Watts, Amir Hussain, Dimension and many others.

Boyhood dream
His enthusiasm for the Trance music and mixing did not remain unnoticed and in 2017 Han gets his shot at his boyhood dream with some live performances at; Have Faith in Trance, Reverie Events at the Tropi Trance Bar on Ibiza, Trance cafe and City Beats among others.  2018 started with a bang with gigs at Trance Academy and Passion for Progressive & Trance and on august 9th 2018 he made his return to Ibiza playing at Trance-Formation 

In these past years he shared the stage with Dj’s like Philippe El Sisi, KO-C, Faith Mark, Fady & Mina, Amos & Riot Night, Marc van Gale, Swen van der Endt, Tim Verkruissen Darren Summers, Steph Mc Donald and many more..

Music
His first track “Anthem of The Ancient Kingdom” was a collab together with FAWZY and was released on december 6th 2019 on Trancespired Recordings. In may 2020 Their second collab saw the daylight and received massive support.

In the first part of 2021 the beautiful tracks Agnieszka (released on We Are Trance) and Exlunda (released on Heavens’Gate) which were two huge milestones for Han. The biggest milestone in 2021 was when the Hel:sløwed remix of his track warriors (with Waves on Waves) was supported on A State of Trance 1043.
