For Star Wars fans and toy collectors, a day at The Maryland Toy Expo is a fantastic way to kick off the summer season.

On June 14th, thousands of attendees traveled to the town of Timonium from various surrounding states, in the hopes of finding a special item from the Star Wars universe and from many other toy lines.  

And the Expo had plenty of them.  For Star Wars fans, the one-day show offered more than 300 vendor tables packed with carded and loose figures, prototypes, boxed vehicles and playsets, international items, and other desirable Star Wars rarities.

One of the best toy shows on the east coast is ending its run in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Next year, The Toys For The Ages Expo is moving to an all-new facility in Gettysburg, but last weekend’s show was a fitting way to say goodbye, and was a spectacular event.

The Expo always offers some of the most desirable items for toy collectors, spanning many vintage and modern toy lines.  And for Star Wars fans, the show was packed with rare carded figures, prototypes, vehicles, playsets and the accessories you need to complete your collectibles!

Join host David Quinn as he returns to Carlisle for the fourth year, in part one of the Toys For the Ages Expo weekend series.

230: Friends, Finds, Figures, Farewell: The Final Toys For The Ages Expo Weekend In Carlisle, Part 2

After soaring to the stratosphere over the past decade, the legendary Star Wars prototype has returned to earth in 2025.  

A Rocket-Firing Boba Fett, the first version of the figure Kenner created but never released, crossed the million-dollar mark at auction in the summer of 2024.

In December, one hand-painted example sold for $275,000.  Six months later, at a June Goldin auction, a similar variant failed to generate interest, and shockingly ended at just under $104,000.  

This month, a rarer J-slot version, estimated at $200,000, only reached $86,000 at Goldin.

Are these underperforming sales a short-term stumble, or do they point to a longer-term trend among Rocket Fetts and Star Wars collectibles?
