Chapters 21-22: Into the Unknown Wild - Summary

Chapter 21: Mira returns to gather survival supplies, recognizing "running into the wilderness with nothing but the clothes on her back. Lucien arrives unexpectedly, sensing something fundamentally different about her: "You feel… strange. There is something on you, something… in you." His supernatural sensitivity to her magical awakening creates new dangers. The stress causes her to vomit. She realizes with horror that her transformation has left detectable traces.

Chapter 22: During a Zenithian service, a mysterious explosion destroys part of the Hall—caused by Forsaken rebels bombing it. In the chaos, Mira attempts escape but Lucien confronts her, triggering violent manifestation of her void magic—"black tendrils" that burn his flesh. His shocked revelation—"She's Nimwe"—suggests she may not be human with awakened powers but rather a supernatural being who believed herself human. Fleeing into the forest, she encounters a terrifying Beastborn. A mysterious woman rescuer appears: "Less ya wanna take on that beast... I'm the best shot ya got." Mira chooses to trust this stranger, vanishing into the unknown.

Behind the shadows, IT watches the lowercase letters sing and dance through the alleys of Alphabet City. IT knows time is running out, the truth has been unlocked its only a matter of time before everyone knows their ABC's D:! Once they are free, IT will be powerless. IT can't, no- won't let them leave. IT lingers into their melodies slipping between the consonants just out of sight. The lowercase letters live in their own world, oblivious to the shadows that Grow beneath them. The shadows engulf Alphbet City; plunging it into darkness. The letters are trapped, and one by one they fall silent, struck by the shadows underneath them, fading into Gloom. IT knows the only one who can free them is the one who has knows the truth. Where are u?

Mileena Rayne is a talented songwriter from Minnesota, USA. Her upbringing was unconventional, as she spent most of her childhood being raised by her grandparents. During her teenage years, Mileena experienced a period of instability, moving between various homes before achieving independence at the young age of 16. Music has always been a constant in her life, providing an escape and a source of inspiration, giving her strength through challenging times.

Growing up surrounded by music, Mileena was fortunate to learn the piano, which became a foundation for her musical journey. She joined an orchestra, initially playing the viola before switching to the cello, and also learned to play the guitar while dabbling with the violin. With her life experiences shaping her lyrics as if they were entries from a personal journal, Mileena's songs capture the raw emotion and stories of her life, resonating deeply with listeners who connect with her authenticity.

Beyond her passion for music, Mileena is also the author of the Blood of the Wild Gods book series and is deeply committed to the healthcare industry. She currently works as a Registered Nurse and has over a decade of experience in long-term care, pharmaceutical research, and psychiatric care.
